Good morning all. I decided to do a bit of a curve last night, and after it started going up at +7, I let myself sleep (this was me setting my alarm every hour) thinking I had hit the nadir (was previously in 2010 at +5)

This morning's AMPS is almost as low as the nadir though? Could that be from a few hours not eating? He ate throughout the night as I was doing the curve (my waking him would remind him to eat). I am hoping it will be time for a dose reduction soon, and this relapse was just a blip...

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243 - Lower than nadir last night?

It's good to hear that he ate throughout the night. I hope his appetite continues to improve.

The nadir last night would have been the lowest point which I see you got a 230 at +6.

His depot for the 2.00 is building up and he may have a nice cycle today, or tonight.

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 77 - Do I shoot?

So his PMPS is 77 right now, and he's due for his shot soon.... Not sure at this point if that means I should be giving him his shot at all? Given that he's had a brief relapse before and quickly snapped out of it, I'm wondering if this is another such case - brief relapse brought on by getting into the wrong food or an infection, and now he's going back into remission?

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 77 - Do I shoot?

Have you been able to test for ketones today?
I think I would stall without food until some more people can chime in. Is the shot already past due?

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 77 - Do I shoot?

I shoot at 8am/8pm usually. This morning I was 15 minutes late. I was going to push it to 8:30 tonight so that I can get an extra half hour sleep tomorrow morning. Haven't tested for keetones today, but none yesterday. And he's behaving like himself and up and about, which is nice to see

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 77 - Do I shoot?

I am really hesitant to say "skip" with his recent history...

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 77 - Do I shoot?

Is the 77 going to be your PMPS number or are you stalling?

If you're stalling, if you get a rising number or similar number next time, I think I'd go ahead and shoot as long as you have everything you need in case of hypo and can stay up if necessary

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 77 - Do I shoot?

Then the 77 is more like a +11.5 or somewheres around there? Since you're planning to move the shot anyway, why not test again at about 8:20pm and let us know what the number is. Just don't feed him, so his numbers are not spiked by the food.

I agree with Carl. I would be really hesitant to skip with him just getting over having ketones.

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 77 - Do I shoot?

117. Shooting time. I did skinny down the shot. Heart's situation is just weird, since he's been in remission for three years, with one brief relapse before, so not sure how quickly he'll snap out of this one. Could be from one day high BG to the next day in remission like he was last time.

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 77 - Do I shoot?

That's without food? Definitely rising. I think you could shoot if you can monitor, have strips and some carby food on hand in case you need it.

Re: 10/4 Heart AMPS 243, PMPS 117

Just read your "edit". The skinny dose is good - much better, IMHO, than skipping.
