Happy Caturday, LL! More healing vines for Polly, Charlie, Cinco and Sasha, JD, Zener, Trix, Rhiannon's Shadow, Billie, Tess, Tiger, Lyresa's Dad, Elise's Mom, Wendy's Mom, and Amy's Dad. Congrats on the OTJ Trial for Shadow and Hellen!!!! Woo hoo!!!

LBG is doing superb today. I just walked into the den, she gave me a big yawn but with eyes wide open and then did that funny shaky head thing she does when she wants to play, then she took off running, hopped in her shoebox, and tried to make me think she wasn't there.  She can be so silly and I love it when she does. Which is actually multiple times daily. She just has that kind of personality. If she was a person, she'd be the kind that everyone wants to be around all the time because she's so much fun and so sassy. Tobes is doing better today. He was kind of quiet last night and I was a bit concerned but he seems to be doing much better. I think that little stitch where the tiny tooth came out is bothering him a bit but it looks good.

Missy G had a nice night-time cycle last night instead of a pj party. I consider it a nice cycle when I only have to get up once or twice ;-) I like nice, flat blue night cycles and she did oblige. She's a little bouncy this morning but she's only on the fifth cycle of the increase so patience, Grasshopper!!

Some of you had remarked about the booties I bought for Tobey for his dental. We are so blessed and fortunate to have a board certified veterinary anesthesiologist, Dr. L. I've known her for probably 12 years and she is absolutely amazing. She also does pain management. She is expensive but she is worth her weight in gold. Back to the booties, during anesthesia, the body temp drops. Dr. L has a special heated blanket for kitties (and another for dogs), that she wraps their bodies in to keep them warm but she said their feet always poke out. Putting little socks or booties on their paws keeps them from losing more body temp through their pads and helps keep them stable. I just went to Target to the baby section and bought two pair of baby booties in blue and they worked great.

Although I was "supposed" to be working yesterday (as in my job), Lupita worked me like a government mule!!!! We have several pot shelves in our house (typical of Santa Fe houses) because our ceilings are 14'. Mike and I had taken everything off the pot shelves in two guest rooms since we were having the ceilings painted a different color. So yesterday, I asked Lupita if she would hand the "stuff" back up to me so I could put them back on the pot shelves. But first, I wanted to vacuum the shelves really well (note: we do not allow Lupita up on the tall ladders even to clean....too much liability there). Welllll.....since the ladder was in the house and since I won't let her up on the ladder, Lupita decided we should take everything off ALL the pot shelves, dust, vacuum the shelves, and put it all back. This took almost two hours. Gracie was watching and I could see those little brain cells clicking away uh-huh. see how mean she is? dis why I don't like her....too much work but better you than me, mama!!!!

My cousin is coming in less than three weeks and I am getting back to my fall cleaning. At least the pot shelves are clean   But I'm redoing all the shelf paper in the kitchen and bathrooms, putting a thick coat of wax on all the cabinets, cleaning closets and the kitchen pantry. Mike said Donna will not notice any of this. But I will and it needs to be done any way so it's a good excuse. Have a great day!!

Hi Marje! Sounds like you're pretty busy, and it's so funny that Lupita gave you a workout, lol. It's so good to see that LBG is feeling so good! And Tobey is recovering nicely, too. It's nice to have a blue flat night I'm sure...I wonder what Gracie is planning next?

The booties sound adorable, I want to see a picture:) Although I guess when Tobey is awake they most likely wouldn't stay on long;) You sure made me LOL that Mike said your cousin wouldn't see all you are doing, such a guy statement to me. I hope that you get it all accomplished so you can feel good about it:) Have a good weekend guys!

Marje, Marje, Marje.....

Sorry I haven't been around to torment you this week. Between work and my plotting kitty - Minnie - it's been the week from you know where.

First, let me go ahead and say that LBG's remarks from last week were not appreciated and actually came too late.

Jersey...Gracie here. I think you are overthinking the plotting. All you gotta do is run in front of the hooman when she is walking and when she tries to cut left to avoid you, cut right ...right smack in front her. She ought to take a good fall with that one!!!

I guess I forgot to put in one of my plotting-my-demise condos that the cats actually did try to take me down in this manner this summer. I can't specifically blame it on Jersey since I have a whole herd of cats who like to play the inside-outside game, but they did trip me in their mad dash outside. I sacrificed myself during the ordeal rather than smashing the cats and ended up with a numb lower leg/foot for about a week as a result. ohmygod_smile

You can also intertwine yourself between her legs and purr up a storm. Hooman cannot avoid you. Be sure you look up at her and bat those eyes, purr, etc.

Ah....but I'm on to this one.

I'm so glad Gracie is feeling great today, even after the booties "incident" and Lupita Friday. (Forced cleaning = karma coming back to bite you in the tushy for putting booties on Gracie. ;-) ) I did read that there may be hope for Gracie and Lupita. How long has Lupita been trying to win Gracie over?

I am a bit concerned about one of your posts in another condo today:

and I actually microwaved a meter by mistake instead of a rice sock   yes, we were new and I'd had an all nighters with Gracie but it taught me a lesson

Are you sure this wasn't the result of getting your to do list items mixed up and placing adult beverages before poking the cat?

In all seriousness, I'm continuing to send good tummy/liver vines for Gracie and healing vines for Tobey. I'm glad the dental went well.
Shelly

I'm glad Gracie is being her silly, sassy self and Tobey is feeling better. I hope Gracie slides down soon.

Hi guys,
Gracie, we are very glad that you are doing such a good job keeping your mamabean on her toes! She needs that! Glad you're feeling better.

Tobey, Rusty will bring you some more cimmamum ice cream this evening. Glad your mouth is getting better. You need to be in top form for the Full Hunters' Moon in a few days.

Marje, when you finish your fall cleaning can you come over and help with mine? We don't do pot shelves, however.

Have a fine evening,

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

i've never even heard of a pot shelf! apparently we don't do pot shelves in the Northwest! I did enjoy Gracie's plotting brain, however. ;-)

Shelly's killing me with the plotting stories . . .

i'd be happy to put you to work here. You can come help for this next crazy week before the wedding, then go home and finish before Donna comes to visit! i've still got plenty left to do, although a marathon work day today got several things crossed off the list. The remaining things are the ones i most don't want to do - like figure out how to put a bustle in the daughter's wedding train. i'm almost done with baking - had to make duplicates of everything so we have gluten free food for our people that need it. I've been cooking like a crazy woman and now the freezer is jammed full!

Coming and helping me here will be a piece of cake compared to doing pot shelves! at least i think so! :-D

     I needed the laughs today as I worked myself
exhausted.gif
. I shouldn't have said that, though, or my reputation as the Energizer Bunny will be blown to H-E double hockey sticks. Of course, Julie, I think you outdid me today   Holy cow!! You know you can hire people to do all that baking, right?? ;-) ;-)

Shelly, Shelly, Shelly: of course you picked today to read about the microwave glucometer fiasco.   I can't believe I never told you that one. I wish I could blame a messed up "to do" list and an adult beverage as the culprit but, alas, it was early FD exhaustion. I hadn't thought of the pot shelves cleaning as karma coming back for the booties especially because, unlike Jersey, Gracie does not hold a grudge    And she doesn't hold a grudge with Lupita....she just doesn't like her. In LBG's mind, there is a difference. Let's see.....how long has that been going on? Well Gracie was 1 year old when Lupita started working for us and now Gracie is eight so that would be seven years! I'm not really sure yesterday constituted hope. I was just trying to be nice to Carl. He is the eternal optimist. But I know my little principessa.

I'm hoping Rusty is bringing extra cimmamum ice cream because darn did I earn it. No pot shelves in NY or OR, eh?

I'm always so happy to have Rachel visits!!!! If you look back a couple condos, you shall see the infamous booties. However, Tobey refused to wear them so Lil Stinka has them on. Close to a stink-eye face but not quite.

Dinner time, kitty grooming time, and then board time. Have a great evening!!

OMG, I must remember to never miss one of your condos, and to search for your comments on other people's. I never heard the microwaving the meter story, either! Marje, you are too funny!

I'm glad both Gracie and Tobey are feeling better. I think that nice flat blue evening cycle is lovely, too. More restful than some she's had lately!

We have those "shelves", too, but we call them "plant shelves". Don't know why - they aren't really shelves but ledges, and I'd never put a live plant up there - you'd have to drag the ladder into the house every time you need to water them! Oh, wait, I do actually have plants on the one in my master bedroom/bath, but they aren't as high as the one in the dining room, so a three step ladder does the trick. I have my big (as in carnival prizes) stuffed animals on the one in the dining room, and those things are dusty, so you and Lupita are welcome to come and clean that for me!! Bring tortillas, please! Can't get decent ones here. ;-)

I get my best, and deepest cleaning done when company is coming, and my DH thinks I get carried away, too. Having company is the only thing that motivates me to do the jobs I hate most, and they really do need to be done once in a while. Lucky for me, we don't get company often. :-D
