mike, i think you're going to have the best luck if you pick a dose and stick with it. if 2.25 is too much, then drop the dose. right now you are changing the dose based upon the preshot number and that's not how lantus works. dosing is based upon the nadir. i know you can't get a lot of those tests because of work. but changing dose on the preshot number probably isn't the answer.

what if you dropped the dose to 1 or 1.5 and tried sticking with it for at least 3 days?

you might want to edit your subject line and ask for dosing advice, because what you've got now isn't really working, i don't think. see what advice others might have.
