? 10/30 Webber STARTED Lantus (PMPS=313) +3=279

Hello everyone. Today was the day I started Webber back on Lantus. I don't really know what else to say. It's a long story but he's got asthma, arthritis and now his diabetes has returned due to the oral prednisolone. His current medications have their own tab on his spreadsheet and I have been monitoring his numbers prior to making the decision to put him back on Lantus. Because he has hit the 300's a few times lately I chose to start rather than waiting to discontinue the prednisolone. He is due to go off the pred 11/7/17 (next week).

I guess my one question is how often to I monitor his sugars this first day? Starting dose: 0.25units

I don't know what your schedule is and how often you can test, but you'll need to try and find his nadir. If your schedule permits, I'd start with a +3, +6 and a +9 along with the pre-shot tests. Hopefully Webber won't be back on Lantus very long.

I am old school & test at +2 to see where cycle is going ... in stickys it is to test at +3, +6, +9.
