Ideally how many hours between last meal of the night and morning test and shot?

I'm asking cause Nestle is big on food. If he doesn't get his "snack" during the night he will wake me up in the middle of the night to feed him and won't let me sleep. I need him to last till 7am (our time) so I started seting up his auto feeder for 3:30am. That's 3.5 hrs before his AMPS. Is that enough of a break in between?
