Hi,
This is Oz's first low pre shot level, just tested him & he's at 71.
Not sure what to do.

Usually we like to "shoot low to stay low" here in LL, but also usually see kitties ease into those lower PS numbers. This is definitely the lowest by far for Oz! Have you fed him yet? One tactic we use is called "Stalling", where you don't feed and retest in half an hour, to see if the numbers are rising naturally. This isn't always a great plan, though, since it does affect when you can shoot in the morning, plus sometimes a kitty will continue to drop just because s/he hasn't eaten.

I have to say, given how low this number is in comparison to how low you've shot before, I'd be inclined to skip tonight's shot. Skipping is not something we like to do very often, but sometimes it becomes a "safety first" issue.

There may be others who have different ideas, though....I'd weigh out all the options if anyone else offers a different idea.

I think that's a good idea. Better safe than sorry, and this way you can get right back on schedule tomorrow morning. Have a great evening, guys!!

Hi there

Grab a test or 2 this cycle - it's an opportunity to see how he reacts to a skipped shot and will help you navigate next time Oz throws you a lower than usual PS.
Remember, with Lantus, you are shooting a number 3 or so hours down the road, when onset occurs, rather than the number you see at PS. :YMPEACE:
