Yesterday's condo
My poor little Mandarin could use some prayers, he's not feeling well at all. It all started with just a little discharge from his right eye yesterday. By this morning, there was noticeable swelling underneath his eye and he could hardly see out of his eye. He also seems painful... or at least he is totally freaked out and doesn't want me touching his face.
I managed to get him into the vet. Unfortunately, there is a chance that this could be an abscessed tooth rather than "just" conjunctivitis. He had a dental in July (not even 3 months ago!!) and his mouth looks pretty bad again. She is afraid that he might have stomatitis. There's no obvious problem in the upper right corner though, so she wants him on Zenequin and eye meds for a few days before we sedate and take x-rays. I really, really hope that this is an eye infection and not an abscess.
Mandarin is only 4 years old and has had so many health issues already. I just feel horrible for my baby boy... and I am having the hardest time medicating him. So far, I haven't been able to do eye meds and finally gave up trying since I wanted to make sure that he would still come to me for his Insulin (which he did - thankfully).
And now I am going to try and calm down. Maybe I will have better luck with his meds after I eat another piece of Chocolate-Zucchini Bread.
