One more week and then we can switch to monthly BG checks! Not sure I’m ready to give up the weekly test yet. Do we have a support group for backing off on the ear sticks? :p:rolleyes:
I fought so dang hard to get them with Max, lol!
Anyway, he’s still being the pain he used to be, spending his nights outside. But he’s back to sleeping indoors during the day (we reached temps of 107 this past week :eek:). He quickly realized AC was better than shade!

I tested him this AM about 2 hours after eating and saw he was back into the low 80s. While still okay, it was a bit unnerving, so I just tested him again before getting his last meal of the night (we’ll be back at it in just a few hours :facepalm:). He’s Back into the 70s, so yay for that!

Good to see some fellow kitty names I recognize getting blues and greens, and a few in OTJ trials. Paws crossed they stay the course. :bighug:

How lovely! While those 80's, 90's may seem a little high...the 'trend' is what's important...frequently after eating BG's will go up a little bit...it's just a matter of how things work for those blood glucose numbers to go up a bit as all those nutrients and hormones travel through the body...then as the pancreas does it's work and gets the proper amount of insulin created and dispersed to help the body absorb those nutrients the BG will settle back down...

It's a process for sure...we as hoomans do the same thing. Take your BG sometime after eating, it's typically always a bit higher than if you had not eaten...it's interesting to watch the miracle of the body as is processes and does the work it's supposed to do...

Hang in there...test when you're comfortable testing...anything for peace of mind. Hope ya'll stay cool...my that's hot stuff where you're at!

Have a great day!!

Nice report on Max. Those temps are awful. My hubby turned the heat on here.
Yes, we have had one heck of an October heat wave in So Cal!! We are totally not THAT hot, but it really feels as if our seasons (ha, we really only have two- nice or hot), are shifting. Sumner used to be June, July, August. Now June & July can be quite nice. September/October seem to be the new Summer! And our “fire season” now as well.

Thank you! Yeah, after three hours post eating he’s usually back to normal, so I had a feeling it was only due to me testing at the two hour mark. At least I didn’t test him THIS morning. Hubby accidentally fed him our CKD kitty’s Weruva food which was over 15% carbs!!! That would have really scared me, had I not mentioned that Patches’ food was in Max’s food bowl. Hubby said, I didn’t know which was his, so if fed them both the same food. ARGH!
:banghead::p

It's great to hear Max is doing so well. You don't have to go to monthly testing. You can keep testing weekly if you want to. It's easier to catch something off that way.
