Mornin' :coffee:

Well Beenie didn't care about the dosecrease threato_O. She showed me:rolleyes:. I thought maybe a bounce but who knows. I've decided to set the alarm for those overnight tests when absolutely necessary. I know there will come a point when I'll be back to it and up throughout the night but now is not the time. This bean needs sleep.

I added at the end of yesterday's post I'm going to give Acupuncture a try this Thursday. The challenge will be getting Beenie to and from the vet's office. I'm going to pick something up (can't remember the name) tomorrow that I will give her 1-1/2hrs before we leave on Thursday that is supposed to help with anxiety. Not make her sedated but relax her so hopefully she won't soil the carrier. Paws crossed that this works otherwise acupuncture won't be in the cards for us. House calls are way too much.

Maybe a little NDW? At least she's going in the right direction now.

I'm curious what drug your vet is talking about - common problem with vet phobia. I have heard of people using gabapentin as a way to relax kitties - it's also a drug used for pain for some acrokitties.

Girlie is responding really, really well to her acupuncture - I hope the same holds true for Beenie. They can get worse after a few treatments, though, so don't be surprised if that happens.

Have you ever tried Feliway? I don't know whether that would help with Beenie's car issues...

I think that is it!! I'll know for sure tomorrow. I remember hearing "gaba pen".

I hope the Acupuncture helps. Thanks for the heads up that it may get worse before it gets better

Feliway does nothing for Beenie, tried it last trip. Hoping this gabapentin works for her. If not I'll start the CBD oil and go from there.

Gabapentin isn't anything dramatic - I think it just takes the edge off
That's what the vet said. Doesn't want her out of it for Acupuncture. I don't have great expectations because her reaction to the trip to the vet is a bit over the top. We shall see.

I'm so glad to hear it helps. Beenie, like clockwork, pukes on the way to the vet and has explosive poops in the carrier on the way back:(

Wow - now that is a dramatic cat! The cleanup must be one heck of a nightmare... Girlie doesn't mind the car as long as I have my hands around her to make sure she doesn't go bouncing wildly if the uber driver turns a corner too quickly. I'm just trying to think of what you could possibly do to calm Beenie down...

Even if you got little diapers for the back end, that wouldn't help the front end, and you can't not feed her because she's a diabetic.... Oh, you poor thing!

I think it's great that your vet will make house calls. Finding a really good acupuncture vet is important, but if you could find a good one who could come to your house, perhaps? Pipe dream, maybe...

I think a sedative for you is a very good idea...

Well I'll take the clean up on the front end any day. Not sure how she'd handle little diapers but hell its worth a try! I bought wee wee pads and I lined the carrier the last time and that made clean up of the carrier so much easier. Cleaning a cat that basically needs a bath is a whole other ball game. She won't stay still, she is ridiculously strong!! I'm not kidding. So its just a mess and takes forever and is so stressful for both of us. If the point is to achieve homeostasis through Acupuncture it would seem counter productive to put an animal through what they deem as some kind of torture. I wish they could talk;)

Oh and yes pipe dream:p add $100 to every appt for house calls on top of the Acupuncture rate:woot:
