Left her alone last night, no tests after +2.5, only snuggles, as she seemed a bit over it all. She seemed uncomfortable from her hips/back so I gave her 25mg of gabapentin and she was much better after that and slept all night on the bed with us. Might have to restart some kind of laser therapy, having stairs in the house isn’t great for her back, even though she doesn’t come down very much yet.

95 at AMPS, back in the saddle

Happy Saturday everyone :cat:

77 at +2. Coaxed her into hanging out downstairs with us instead of hiding in her favorite bed in the closet upstairs… gave 1tsp LC so I can test her at +4 instead of +3. The hourly poking really takes a toll on her mood, poor baby.

Surfing in the greens all day. Good appetite but she spends more and more time upstairs, doesn’t even come down for meals except breakfast, I bring her food to the bedroom. I am starting to worry about her quality of life, she’s always been a loud nose breather (her brother as well), but these days she sometimes gets very gurgly, with some occasional stridor and more snoring than before. I plan on asking for a full assessment of her quality of life on Monday.
It’s hard to parse what might be due to her getting used to lower BG, pain in her back/hips because we lapsed on the Adequan (gave her a shot today), recovering from the stressful move and getting used to new house… since she has insuline resistance and vet thought she had a heart murmur and heart disease is common with acromegaly I worry she could have that as well… sigh. She just seems so subdued and low energy, and hasn’t been “herself” for months… I don’t know, I am having a lot of big feelings and worries. Thankful for everyone here and the support.

I’m sorry, it’s so hard, isn’t it. You are doing so great for her. I hope the Monday appointment goes well and helps ease your worries. :bighug:

Thank you ladies - I really hope so, but tonight despite having a 111 PMPS, Chewie didn’t have much of an appetite, which is really unlike her. She barely took two nibbles of the LC flavors she normally loves. I opened a couple more cans, in the end she ate maybe 2tsp LC and 2tsp MC. I hope that’ll be enough to carry her through her insulin dose, I will test often tonight.
