Morning--We have not been evacuated yet, but I am taking a motel room inland near my Dear Cousins in Commack, NY about 45 min from here if we must evacuate--This way Moonie will be isolated with us, and we will be protected--We just need to worry about the lights going out--Motel doesnt have a generator, but we will keep her in a protected environment--I am scared out of my wits, so I decided to go out of town..DH is busy battening down the hatches..We have not been formally evacuated yet so we are waiting
I do feel better about this & think Moonie & We will be OK, except for the posssible power outages..
Can always go to DC 5 min. away...Storm Surge is what we worry about, possibily fleeing again

Yikes! What an event! I do hope everyone can stay safe and little Moonie doesn't stress out too much. We'll be watching the news and thinking of you all nailbite_smile

How scary for all of you! We will definitely be thinking of you, and sending stay safe vines for both your family and your house!

I'm getting a little scared too, and I'm way further inland than you are. I'm afraid to turn on the Weather Channel nailbite_smile , because I don't want to hear it.

I hope you and your family furred and not, and your house stays safe.

This is scary.

Stay safe, Roni! I know you guys will be fine - moving inland is a very wise move! I've got a friend on the beach here in NJ - she just posted on Facebook that they are staying put. That's just crazy!!! (Looks like Moonie isn't worried at all, given those numbers. Remember how well animals can sense danger - she's saying all will be well!!)

All I could find on the news last night was on Fire Island and I don't know the specific geography up there.

Glad you are relocating. Hope Moonie doesn't over stress on the traveling.

photos.
Just about everything we own in the world is replaceable, but not always all the photos.
I've been evacuated so many times lately that I keep all mine in tubs now, ready to grab and run.

Stay safe, Roni. Glad you're evacuating. The worst of it will pass us but I'm afraid of all my trees doing damage to the house and cars (& us). Nothing I can do about that though. No place to evacuate. It will be worse to the south and to the north. Good luck!
