I hope everyone had a great weekend, and a good Sunday yesterday. I spent mine at home, with a few local hikes to add some outdoor time to a weekend full of chores and errands and general relaxation recovery time from a very busy week with the boys. We have been very foggy this week, without even one break... until this weekend, at last! Fall colors are still enforce,. Some just coming in to color, others are beginning to fade... It was a nice weekend! Here's what I wrote in my post last night about the day: "Hi Everyone! I hope your Sunday has been a good one. I can't believe that the weekend is over. where did it go? Got alot done this AM, more at home chores, and the bills. Gotta pay the bills.... rains finally stopped about 11, so I headed on out after that. I just did the local stuff here at home, as it was really wet and rainy in Bellevue, which was my backup plan: Cougar Mountain. anyways I did maybe 7 miles today, just exploring the woods, and some of the shore line. We had great sky drama for a while, that was fun. I sat and watched that evolve for a few. Spent the rest of the time hiking the woods. By then the sun was out, sure made for a nice afternoon. Blues skies as I type this, might be a great sunset tonight. Of course I took way to many photos, duh.... ;-) :-D Picassa link: More Meadowdale

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   Things have been relatively quiet here. Yesterday was a mellow day for all kitties, even Lola. The weather was dismal in the morning with all that rain. It was perfect snooze in the fleece bed weather. Elsa was camped out on my bed comforter, Bug was sawing logs in Mannie's old bed, and Lola was snoozin' on the rocker, and even spent a few on my lap in the morning as I worked on the 'puter. As I type this she is sound asleep on my lap, with her head propped up on my arm,. HAHA! That sure makes it hard to type. All typos are hers, by default.  I best not disturb her though - she being quiet!!! Funny though, yesterday when I was in the shower both Lola and Bug decided I needed help. Bug was meowing on the counter, Lola was pounding on the shower door.  Things finally quieted down. When I exited I discovered Bug had split and Lola was stuck in the window blinds. Crazy cat. YUPP: Normalcy in MusketeerVille! cat_pet_icon

I took some photos of the Musketeers yesterday. I really like these shots, if only because I think they show the character of each of them, their individuality: Lola the mischievous adventurer, Bug the mellow Mannie like Mr Hoover, Elsa the quiet expressive matriarch. The Three Musketeers

Have a great day everyone. I plan on today, and will be off once I post this condo. I am headed up to the North Cascades, to visit Rainy lake and hopefully Blue Lake, I suspect this may just end up being a road trip, and I have read these trails do have snow. Both hikes are close to road side, and are short, but if the snow is excessive we will just go for roadside views of the mountains. The North Cascades are really gorgeous in the Fall, as it begins to evolve into Winter. I really am looking forward to seeing what I can see, and will hike if conditions allow.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

I love the pictures of the three musketeers. It does show their personalities. I hope you get a good hike in somewhere today.

Love all the pictures!!! Interesting how the rain mellows the kitties out...even Lola. I don't blame them, though...rain makes me want to stay in bed, too! Yikes on snow on the trails already...brrrrr! I hope you were able to hike! Have a great evening, Michelle!

hi everyone! I hope you ahve had a good cheery cherry monday.Mine has been great. I did amke it hiking, just not the one I had planned. I had intended to go to the North Cascades, but after reading several reports of icy roads, too many accidents, roll over vehicles, I decided that maybe that wasn't the place for me, and onto my backup plan: Off to Skykomish, and Iron Goat. I have second guessed myself all day.... maybe I should have done SR20 and the Cascades. There were clear blue skies, and those mountains would have been stupendous. oh well... I am content with what I did today. It was so nice there. I made trailhead at dawn, and was able to watch the sun come up over the mountains. Was that ever nice. It has been a while since I have been able to make a mountain sunrise. Awesome. Hike was good too. I have always enjoyed this one. We had sunny skies, cool, at maybe 42/45, and the RR history there is incredible. There's something to be said for being able to walk the path that trains did back in 1893, see the things built in 1910, 1914. darn cool. There is section where you can still see the spikes in the ground. Anyways - a ton of fun. I logged 15.2 miles today, and did not tire. Freaking cool huh. : ) I climbed maybe 990 feet. Most of those miles are relatively flat, what with it being an old RR grade. So.... perhaps I did make the right choice today. Who knows, but it did work out well. I will post the Picassa link in tomorrows condo. :-D

Hi Carla - THX on the pics! I am glad that you could see their personalities too, I had hoped that would come through. :-D THX on today too - I did! had a great time.

Hi Amy - THX on the pics! It is on the rains, isn't it? Lola too, which was like wow: is she OK? I so agree on that darn snow! It did change my plans today, but I found an old reliable, and did that one instead. Loved it, and had a great time!

I like the pics of the three.

That's a lot of footsteps today....
I only managed 2 miles ..... You make me feel lazy.
I walked 4 last sunday ( mostly uphill) but it made my hips achy so I figure I better stick with 2 for a week, than 3, than get back to 4.
Darn R.A.

Hi Rhiannon :-D THX for the visit! and THX too on the pics. :-D As the evening wears on I am beginning to feel those miles... :? Sounds like a plan for you. bumper on the achy hips and the RA. dang no fun on that one. Kudos to you though for getting out there.
