Kitty cat is surfing in the greens today, but other than today it feels like he's just all over the place. Can someone tell me if I'm doing okay or should be doing something different? It's been a year and almost 2 month since diagnosis so I'm feeling a bit discouraged.

Try not to despair if things aren't moving along as quickly as you'd like. I remember feeling the same way at the one-year mark, then two...now four...but I resigned myself to the fact that Luci will never go into remission - so I'm helping her have her best life as it is now with a few pokes and her twice daily insulin. Just like a lot of people who rely on medication to help us feel better, she needs medication to help her feel better too. It's just part of our lives now.

I don't know that Kitty Cat is one of those cats just yet (who may not go into remission) and it does appear from your signature that she has some other health challenges.

However, there have been many cats here who, just when you least expect it, make that turn and go green and stay green...I've seen it happen!

You're doing a wonderful job supporting Kitty Cat. It's apparent you love her and she surely appreciates all the care and attention she's getting from you.

Hang in there...:bighug:

Thank you for the encouraging and comforting words @Sue and Luci ! Just what I needed today. It was very exciting last year and earlier this year when he seemed to be sliding down the scale. I will stay hopeful but also try to not be disappointed and understand remission doesn't always happen. I'm fully committed to taking care of this little fluffball so thank you for reminding me that sometimes they need meds to feel better and that's okay.

Hugs Christina :bighug::bighug::bighug: FD is such an emotional roller coaster. I went up and down dosing with Jax and it can be so discouraging but as we all say - the cat needs what the cat needs. And felines are so interesting (:bookworm::bookworm::bookworm:) in that the pancreas can heal (though not guaranteed to happen obviously) and their insulin needs fluctuate. Hang in there. You'll find a path that gives peace to you and Kitty Cat :cat:
