PMPS = 182
+2 = 189
+4.75 = 177
+8 = 318 ... what?:arghh:

AMPS = 347

The 318 at +8 has me completely confused ... either Gizmo did get to the lagoon last night and I missed it or for whatever other reason the insulin wore off and he shot up quickly. At least it is the weekend and we can hopefully figure out if he is dropping to low on this dose or if he is just being an unpredictable :cat:. We are leaving for vacation in 2 weeks and I just really wanted him to be somewhat "stable" by then. I know that's asking for a lot, but I can dream. :p I'm scared to leave him and have him go low, but I'm also scared to leave him in higher numbers for 9 days. :nailbiting: I never knew having a diabetic cat could cause so much anxiety!

I KNOW you can do better Gizmo, come on!! :cat:
Who will be taking care of Gizmo while you're gone? Where ya going?? I hope G. levels out into some nice blues for you before your trip. :bighug:

We are going to Disneyworld! :D My mom is going to be taking care of Gizmo, but I haven't convinced her to stay at my house while we are gone ... yet.:rolleyes::joyful: She will more than likely just be checking on him twice a day at shot times. :nailbiting: I am going to ask for a midday test as much as possible also. ;) She has given his shot once and that went well. She has checked his sugar twice ... the second time went much better. So at least I feel alright as far as all that goes. I'm torn between taking my video camera on vacation with us or leaving it here so I can spy on Gizmo. :rolleyes:

You and me both, but I'm not holding my breath ... he is a cat after all.

Our kitties do like to keep us guessing. They can also bounce from a fast drop, but that doesn't look like the case either. It always better for them to be a little higher than go too low. Make sure you ask about three days before you leave so you can get advice. We usually recommend making any dose adjustments a couple of cycles before you leave.

+3 = 171 ... well that is probably going to result in a bounce :banghead:

. I planned on asking for dose advice about a week before we leave (next friday) just to give people a heads up. Then I can get more accurate advice a few days before.

Hope Gizmo doesn't bounce:cool:

Curious as to what vacation advise is like. We have a trip in December and I'm already stressed over it. Its paid for so we're goingo_O
That's great that your mom is trained and ready to Gizmo-sit:cat: You guys will have a ball at Disney, it is after all the happiest place on earth:p

Fun! Bring back a mouse for Gizmo. :cat: :smuggrin:
Lol. He would be so happy! :p

I've been stressed about this trip since Gizmo was diagnosed back in Feb. My mom had really high hopes that the cabergoline would work immediately and Gizmo would be off of insulin before our trip. How I wish she were correct. We went to Disney 3 years ago and had a blast. Very excited to return!
Considering how old Mickey is, I think he would be a bit too chewy and stringy for Gizmo to enjoy. :nailbiting:
Very true. Gizmo is just as happy with a shoe string or a laser light. He loves both.

Ok ... bounce is going to happen ...
+4 = 93 (2 tsp LC)
Gizmo is on a mission today! :D

I hope that you get to enjoy your trip!

This is the hardest thing about having a diabetic cat as how attached we become to them as caregivers. We missed a trip to Ireland this summer, our 25th anniversary trip to Hawaii (friends are on our trip this week) and our son's parents weekend at college. :(
We really do need to find a reliable pet sitter, but it is so hard to trust someone with all we do for our kitty.
What a great business idea this would be....like uber but Diabetic cat pet sitters.:cat:

Sorry about all your missed trips. We camp a lot and just decided that the cats had to come with us this summer. But we are extremely lucky to have my mom be able to take care of all of our animals while we are away. But I still hate to leave him. Diabetic cat pet sitters ... what a great business idea. Although, I would still have a hard time trusting someone I didn't know to care for my kitty.

+7 = 73
It appears that Gizmo has grabbed ahold of a surf board! :D

The problem with diabetic cat pet sitters is that the people who we'd feel confident really "get it" would probably have a diabetic cat of their own--so if both nosedived the same day, the sitter would be in a quandary! Likewise if they had more than one client across town from each other.

Gizmo, that's a nice run you had today! :D:D:D

Nice cycle today! Hope Gizmo can continue with a little dip in the lagoon tonight :cool::D , vacation coverage is new to me, it was definitely easier before FD. I'm sure your mom will do just fine :bighug:

Gizmo says, "Trick or Treat!"
