Well, I didn't get a chance to post this morning.

At the DoDo household we are not getting a lot of sleep with how bouncy my boy has been.

I shot at 3.00 on a HI and.. well.. we went LOW. *LOL*

I shot a 2.50 on a HI and well.. we went pretty low early in his nadir too... but not as bad as the 3.00. So I feel we are trying to figure it out.

I think Lunch helps though although one day his LC canned food didn't push him up at all and we had to supplement with Hills AD and then today--- with just canned LC food he went up to the 300s within 2 hours and hovered there.

On the plus side, DoDo likes lunch. No, he LOVES lunch.

His e-tube is still driving him a little nuts with the itchy it is giving him now that the granuloma is healing nicely.

He had his last dose of clavamox tonight.

He is all attitude and even though I have been babying him by testing him on my mom's bed

If I walk into her bathroom to put up the testing and bandage supplies he trots in there and jumps on the counter to lie down for a new test so he can get more Fishies (dried cod or salmon) or CluckClucks (freeze dried chicken).

Bless him, the pure image of Pavlov's dogs.

Other than that-- he is happy and ferocious appetite.. we are still just trying to figure out our sliding scale.

He has had some intestinal upset I think though it is the antibiotics-- he has had some very soft poops... I keep thinking.. PLEASE not another bout of pancreatitis... but at least we have a feeding tube if that happens.

Hopefully-- *crosses fingers* his 2.00u will not make him too low at 1am where my mom and I do the waking up in the middle of the night thing. i think I got like 4 hours of sleep in 2 hour segments last night.

Unlike his humans, DoDo gets to sleep all day (and in the most happy kitty way, flat on his back leaning against a pillow).

Re: And a new pic of my boy

This was him at lunch-- wondering why was I taking so long.

Ignore the mess in the room we still have not finished moving out stuff since having the floors put in---

The stuffed things on the bed are his friend, Krycek, and two happy socks.

OHHH I just love him- beautifulllll ooops handsome...

if the antibiotic caused diarrhea you could ask the vet about Fortiflora which is good bacteria probiotics in a YUMMY powder for cats, sprinkle on food like salt. one packet per day.

oh my goodness, quite a bit of action in that SS!!!! ditch everything I said yesterday

remember too there's nothing magic about a sliding scale - it's only for if you discover that is what works best for you and for him... if you are more comfortable with just one dose, then stick with that... if he runs a bit higher here & there but still feels good and no ketones, it's ok, as long as he doesn't get stuck up in higher #s and ketones come back - might be that he just needs something like 2u most of the time, and a fat 2 if his PSs go up a bit

Although you may feel like you aren't gettin' it right, you have a near-perfect nadir every cycle lately, and all your dose adjustments make sense, so I think you are doing a great job interpreting the data & reacting accordingly.

He is adorable, and sporting matching booties, LOL.

I guess... I am just so paranoid about going to bed at night.

My mom just got off of work and tested him.. he is at 99.

So... I wont feel comfortable until 2:00pm - 2:30pm tonight to see if.. well should I give a snack.. should I just let it be.

Ugh.

I just worry that right when I fall off to sleep he will be like 40 and plunging downward.

Thanks! I think his little haircuts are still cute. I can't prevent myself from kissing his shaved belly everyday I will be a little sad when the hair grows back!

*laughs*

I am not sure if it is because of the color with his eyes, but I can tell you this, he does require it to be smoothed out evenly or he fusses and scratches at the blankets.
