Yesterday's horrible vet visit day.

Neko has mostly recovered for yesterday, spend the night in blues  and has done a decent job on her lamburgerini so far. I am going to try to be more vigilant in syringing to "top up" her daily calories to try to slow/stop her weight loss.

It seems fitting after yesterday that it's bean and civie medical day. I'm off to the eye doc soon and Theo's getting regular b/w done later. Which is nice, cause I'll leave food out for her to munch on while we are gone.

It's raining again, still. :( What happened to our sunny fall? :arghh: Worst off, we have a high school student regatta this Saturday where I'll be in hip waders wrangling boats and kids on the beach. Thankfully the king tide of last year is not forecast for this year. Could do without the rain though.

Cheering on all those OTJ trials and thank goodness the real Boomer showed up :D. Vines to all in need.

It sounds like Neko is having a good day today. I hope everything goes well with your eye doctor visit and Theo's vetty visit.

Oh, rain and hip waders in the saltchuck at the end of October is not pleasant. I'd send you some hot flashes but I need them here - it's snowing. May the high school races be at the very least entertaining. And may all appointments go well today.

Almost any day sounds better then yesterday. Glad Neko isn't holding grudges.

Cold water, waders and high schoolers thrashing about, uh, sounds like fun:banghead:

Hope Neko got in some meditation and peaceful snack time while the house was quiet with the civie and bean away.

Hope you and Theo had a good Dr. day. Glad to hear Miss Neko recovered from the less than pleasurable vetty visit. Keep eating your fuds sweet girl. Always vines and prayers.

Decent appy so far for Miss Neko. She has eaten her AM calories and not yet done the cycle. :) Med appointments done and time to go costume hunting.

I got Neko's results from yesterday. It's a mixed bag. Kidney numbers are a bit better but I still have to increase the binder a bit more. Her potassium was low, just a bit. for the first time ever and HCT down a smudge. I think will add B vitamins back in. The rest of the red/white blood numbers are good, so chemo continues. But her heart has thickened a little bit, 3mm on the left ventricle, so we stay at 50 ml of fluids every other day. Best news, no vetty visits there for 4 weeks. Neko will like the break and maybe I can sneak an acupuncture visit in. I still have to talk live to the IM vetty as he called while I was at my med appointment.

@Red & Rover (GA) it's warm work marshalling the boats on the beach so I was not cold, and we are still in the teens celcius. Last year the tide was so high and I was the only one with hip waders so I had to go in over my waist. It was exhausting holding boats off shore as teams moved in and out. Every year, at least one novice boat flips. DH does safety boat duties. It's only a 500m race but still a gong show. Best part of the day, as club president I get to hand out the medals. :) As one mom told me, she hadn't seen her son smile that big for ages.

Keep that appy going Miss Neko. All sorts of vines for your girl, Wendy. Vet report seems mostly stable, give or take. You two are managing all these complexities with such a skillful balance. Well done, both of you.

As for the boats, water, and possible weather icks....Arghhhhh. Guess you gotta love it!

continued appy vines... and chewing vines....since that's such a big part of it all.
Scritches....

and you can send the ski season my way ... we bought our season passes , now we need that white stuff.

Good that Neko had a decent day and that her test results were satisfactory. Hope that Theo's will be, too. And your eyes!

The Beach Meisterin has quite a role to play! Good luck with the tides!

Eat yer fuds, Neko!

Hugs and scritches,

Little girl is getting an increase, but not until after Saturday's gong show. Peeing is noticably better with her in blues.

I talked to the IM vetty (while out shopping, thank goodness for iPads as I brought up her b/w while talking - love technology). I make the IM vet work. :) He's a fairly recent graduate and probably doesn't have too many clients who ask as many questions as I do. :p We talked about cypro vs. mirtz and b vitamins and pepcid. He wants me to try adding some pepcid into the regime to see if gastritis is contributing to the meh appy. We'll try that for a couple of weeks before going to cypro on a regular basis. He also talked about potassium supplementation and I had to remind him it had to be sugar free. So, he was going to rewrite the report he sent me earlier.

On a side note, the Koha line of cat food products is now available in one of my local pet food stores. Might see what baby girl thinks of kangaroo. The store is right beside Theo's vetty so very convenient. I'm not expecting any surprises from his b/w. Poor lil guy was quaking during the blood draw, little feet shaking a mile a minute. I like this clinic because they have the caregiver there for everything - with blood draws, X-rays, ultrasound etc. I think it really helps Theo to have me there.

@rhiannon and shadow (GA) - Way too warm for snow here. The last two winters the early half of the ski season has been a bust.

Good News on the vet report :) And glad she is eating well today- Poor Theo- so glad you get to stay with him- it doesn't seem that there are many vets that allow that anymore!

And this rain is insane.. Non stop- we had a break this am- then it just started up again- Hope that it means some snow in the mountains.. and at least its warm- we've only had 3 fires this year so far (our main way of heating the house).

Don't know how I missed yesterday's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. So sorry for everything you and Neko went through.

Good job keeping that IM vetty on his toes. Best to get them educated while they're still young and not set in their ways! ;)

Poor Theo. I hope he has recovered from the trauma and is back to trying to steal Neko's fuds!

Speaking of Neko's fuds, eat up, Missy! Don't let your brother get the good stuff!

Wendy, I missed Neko vet visit and glad that the BW came back with some good reports. Hope Neko will pick up the appy for you and maybe kangaroo will be just what she fancied!
