Yesterday I started a new cartridge in the morning, numbers seemed to improve a bit.

10/26 Recap:
AMPS 250 +8 220
PMPS 177 +3 249

Still waiting to see if the cartridge was getting toasty. It may take a few cycles for the depot to fill with good insulin. I haven't called the vet yet, although I do need to order her cartrophen. I can live with yellow and blue cycles much better than yellow and pink. But I still want to see green! I'm still threatening Neko with a vetty visit for bloodwork if the numbers don't improve. It's been almost 5 months since the last set were done.

Same old same old Neko today. She seems to be fine, usual CPC and vocal/hinting for more meals. She's now out in solarium dreaming of sunshine. I hope she gets her fill out there as the remnants of tropical storm Ana are supposed to be heading our way tonight.

Re: 10/27 Neko AMPS 186

So hoping the new cartridge does the trick. Hey, Neko, come on down. Miss Polly's hitting green (just barely and briefly!) and she'd like some company. Catch her quick, I'm sure she'll be flat Polly, yellow Polly before too long.

And I know what you mean about the food vocalizations. Polly's yowled at me more these past few weeks than she has in the entire ten years she's lived here. "Not now, Polly, you have to wait......) Yowl, Yowl, Yowl.

After all those years of shy silence, it's kind of fun to hear her trying to talk to me! (don't tell her, though!)

Work that new cartridge, Neko! The lagoon awaits!

Hi Wendy,
I hope that all will check out well with your girl. Rusty seems to be on the same vetty schedule as Neko. I'm going to make an appointment for next week.

I hope Ana doesn't cause too much damage to your area. Have a good evening. Batten down the hatches!

Neko's looks pretty good in blues, maybe that new cartridge will be the answer! In the meantime, it's good to hear she has all 5 P's in place, that says a lot! Good grief, I hope you are not in the path of the tropical storm
Stay safe and warm Wendy!

Re: 10/27 Neko AMPS 186 PMPS 141

WOOT on that PMPS! Mommabean feeling much better and so is Neko. She grooms a lot more in the blues. And she got a daddybean lap this afternoon. Tropical storm Ana slammed into a cold front from the north and has been downgraded. It may have some intense rain, but winds are only projected to hit 70 km/h and not in our area. :-D

@Marilyn, Carla, Ella, Ruth - Might have been the cartridge after all. Or Neko needed more juice, or she's just being a cat. Time will tell. Neko has always been a chatty cat, but with acromegaly she's become a howler about her food. Her alarm clock is VERY precise. Not looking forward to the move back to standard time. :? I did call the vetty about Neko's cartrophen but that's it. Still got a little over a month until her regular 6 month wellness check but I'll keep it as a threat if her numbers go wonky on me again.

First lower blue before bed test in a week. Methinks the old cartridge was toast.

@Liz - She ducked this one.

Hi Wendy

Hopefully that new cartridge will do the trick. How long did you have the old one? I waste a lot of mine as I draw back a lot more than I need and then do the shooting in the air thing. Sometimes if I get a syringe that sticks I end up squirts too much and having to start again. I don't mind using up the first cartridge quickly as I probably made an error or two withit in the early days :-D even more luckily this is about the only pet medication that isn't too pricey (in the uk anyway) .

Morning Sarah. This cartridge only went 30 days and was only half empty. Normally I use it to the end, previous one went 65 days. Insulin price isn't too bad in Canada either. I pay more for strips in 6 months than I do in insulin.

Great numbers today, Neko! Good job heading off the vetty visit.

That new cartridge seems to have done the job. I'm glad it worked out for you, but too bad the last one went bad so early. I really should try to talk Cinco's vet in to letting us get pens. His previous one didn't like them (???), but now that I've switched to taking him to UCDVTH, maybe they will be more agreeable.

I'm glad Ana got downgraded and you won't get those huge wind gusts. A little rain is fine, but strong winds are awful.

Same here! The strips are sooo expensive. I buy mine of eBay otherwise I would be bankrupt

Thanks for your help over the last couple of days.

Now that's the way to go, Neko. I'm sorry the pen went bad, but delighted the pen went bad. Hmmm? I'm not sure that makes much sense. At any rate, just thrilled the girl's in so much nicer numbers.

Yea for the new pen. How long do you usually go before changing? I'm on my first one, sort of. The first pen we thought was no good so I started the second one and it's been used for 34 days I think.
