His head is healing - finally! :-D I'm not worrying the high number because it was right on top of the AB dose and if you peek at his chart, I have been trying to get a successful test. He's feeling well enough that the fight doesn't end with struggling during the tests - he boxes me after and follows that with ambushes. He's eating well (except for today when he decided he doesn't want to eat the flavor offered - he will - he's hungry) and being as bratty as can be. I think I need to get larger lancets - 28 worked better than the 30 I'm using now. I'm just not getting enough blood to test. His ketones are still negative, which is a good sign. I'm hoping for a chance to test them again today but, he is sneaky about my invading his privacy.

I finally got a report on Jake from Dixie this morning and he is doing very well. She said he is acting more lively, eating well, and generally seems in better health since changing diet and being put on the Levemir. Her DH is home now so, she has access to the information and help with Jake.

I will post again if I get any new numbers to report. ~O)

You really do need to be concerned of the high BG levels. High 500's is dangerous.

Its very important to get the readings at least 2x a day before the insulin injections.

I appreciate the concern and have been trying to get several readings per day - tell Mugsy.

I'm sorry, my concern is because when my Ginger's BG levels were that high, I had to rush her to the emergency and the next day had to have her put to sleep.

Ginger was suspected of having alot more problems than just diabetes.
It just scares me when I see another loved one with such high BG levels.

I was able to test her bg levels all thoughout the day, and in the end, it didnt really matter.
She was not doing well at all, nothing like your cat.

It is important tho to be able to get those readings.

Good luck to you.

the testing does get easier...hang in there...

binks was horrified at first...now he gets to the rug before i do. i suspect that the treats have a lot to do with that... :-D
