We finally got enough blood for a test and it was good. This is after he threw up the little he ate and the AB he took 2 hours before. When we get our checks, I will be ordering the syringes, more strips, and 28 ga lancets. I think the slightly larger lancets will help. I found the sock so, now we have a rice bag. Poor Mugs must have very sore feet from all the pokes I've had to do. This time it was about nine pokes and five strips! DH stopped holding his scruff and I had to yell at him, too! We will keep trying until all three of us get it right. :YMSIGH:

PS: :smile: He may be gaining weight. He seems much heavier when I pull him out of his hiding places. This afternoon he was taken off the AB by the vet - yea! for his tummy! :-D

Good job on getting a blood test. I hope you are feeding that 53.

Since it is still so difficult to get blood tests, I would recommend you stay conservative and "feed the fifties" when you see them. It would be hard to monitor whether Mugsy would go up or down without lots of tests. And that is still kind of hard for you and Mugsy. :-D
For the fifties, regular low carb food is fine. If you see anything lower, I would recommend you feed high carb food (gravy.)

Hang in there, it will get better!

Getting heavier to drag out of hiding? :lol:
