Happy Fursday LL!! Sending our deepest sympathy to Vicky as Gandalf has crossed the Bridge. In the last 13 months that we've been here, I'm not sure I've ever seen a month with so many FD kitties and civvies crossing and it breaks our hearts. We also send our thoughts and prayers to our ailing LL kitties including Leo, Rocket, Jetta, and any others.

So I guess my brilliant idea of a dosecrease to f1.25u to just get her a bit into green wasn't so brilliant after all since she couldn't just tippy-toe into green but had to take the express train. Mike did a great job managing her curve yesterday and was working hard to keep her from going low but she still earned that reduction at +7. Unfortunately, yesterday turned into a pcpcpcpc day/night and we had to break out the karo a couple times which never makes us happy. Since she started lev, we have pretty much been able to control her with 8-10% on low numbers with only the occasional karo when she dipped too low. She just didn't want to respond to much of anything yesterday so I reduced her back to 1.25u last night. I just hope I didn't really mess up her lovely flatness and that she gets back to it again on the 1.25u. Guess I should have put on some blue patience pants and kept her at that dose longer. Live and learn!!!

Our little darling girl is glad for the respite today so she can nap some although she is currently winding herself around my legs and chirping. Guess she's wondering where all that yummy food is from yesterday. She has a vetty visit today....her quarterly visit so we'll be doing bloodwork, urine, checking the teeth really well, and I think I'm going to have the vet run a specFPL just so we have a baseline. For that reason, I have fed her early on today so she'll have fasted for about 6 hours before the test...hope that is enough. Tomorrow we will get back on the new feeding schedule to try and catch those drops around +7. I'm dreading what the vetty visit will do to her BG...it always spikes.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hi guys .. I see gracie is heading back up .. let's put on the brakes young lady .. this is where the train stops! Hope the vet visit went well and all test results come back looking good!

Re: 10/27 Gracie AMPS 132 +3 260 +6 269

Good luck at the vet. It should be fine and her BG won't stay up for long. Do you usually fast before bloodwork or just the specFPL?

Re: 10/27 Gracie AMPS 132 +3 260 +6 269

OMG! I can never complain about PM testing again, after seeing your 10/26 recap! I want to go lay down, now, just looking at it. hope you have smooth sailing today.

      Celi....I'm sure that is EXACTLY what she would be thinking if she knew where we were headed today!

Melissa: I think I'm her surrogate for where the karo goes....right to MY hips  Yeah...vetty visit never results in good numbers.

Linda: well Mike is on the road so he'll get good sleep tonight but he was up a couple times every night the past week so he deserves it! I went btb this morning!

Lyresa: I think he did a great job yesterday. Gracie's cycles are not so easy to manage. She does look lovely in her green 'kini though!

Devon: brakes applied.....so far, not such a bad bounce. Paws crossed the vetty visit doesn't make it worse. I see Rescue Remedy in her very near future.

Ann: No...I don't usually fast before bloodwork...just the specFPL. It's too hard to match up our schedule and the vet's schedule to fast her but today it looks like it might work out.

Ann: thanks!! we need them!!

Mares: sshhhhhh....i didn't put all the numbers on there! I was too pooped

Re: 10/27 Gracie AMPS 132 +3 260 +6 269 +9 228

Woweee! That was quite a set of numbers last night. I'm with Maresydotes and feel like I need to yawn and take a nap too!

I hope the vetty visit went well... or will. (I forget you are in a different time zone.)
BigMac sure appreciated the big hug from his little girlfriend Gracie. He is now napping with a little smile on his face.

   That hi-jacking photo looks so much like BigMac... he would definitely do that for Gracie. But I hope Gracie doesn't mind going to the vet too much. (((Gracie)))

Re: 10/27 Gracie PMPS 234

Good evening!!!

So the vetty visit went well and so far her BG hasn't skyrocketed.....paws crossed. Bless her heart, she was shivering and this vetty is so good and kind with her. She passed all her NRT reflexes with perfect scores. Vet said her teeth continue to look amazing. She took a q-tip and ran it all along her gums and pressed to see if Gracie might react as if she has a lesion (sometimes they are hard to see in these tiny SF mouths). Gracie didn't flinch, meow, nothing. She did bloodwork and urine and she said she'll call me tomorrow. She felt we didn't need to do the specFPL for several reasons: (1) Gracie had only fasted 6 hours and the lab said it's better with a 12 hour fast so she was worried if we spent the money and got back a false result (2) test is expensive to get back a false result (3) Gracie tested as a 10 for her pancreas (best score) (4) Gracie seems to be doing well. So guess we'll hold off.

Gus's bloodwork came back and all of his blood and urine are extremely stable and look really good for his renal insufficiency except his phosphorus went up :o Interesting because his creat came way down. So she said to give him some more binders and continue the search for lower phos foods.

Hope everyone has a great night. I'm going to have dinner and probably call it a fairly early night if Gracie will allow me to. Gonna stop by a few more condos first.
