10/27 George AMPS 146, PMPS 86

@smorgasbord The strips just came in! Looks like maybe an issue with leukocytes, protein and specific gravity? I did three different strips.

I’m actually not sure I posted the correct pictures in the correct order. :banghead: This one was the longer one with leukocytes looking worse but I think I missed it above. I’m probably better off trying this again tomorrow…I need to collect a sample anyway (hopefully the vet will accept it) so I can do the strips again then and make sure I get all of the right pics.

Haha. Yeah, when I first got them it was brain melting trying to read the results at exactly the right time. It gets easier.

Honestly, it looks good. I'd like to take another look at the Leukocytes, at exactly 2 minutes, to be sure. But I'd be surprised if he has a UT infection. Protein looks in spec no matter when the photo was taken, pH is good. USG (Specific Gravity) is higher when it's condensed, if they haven't gone in a while.
 
Also, USG is not very accurate with a reagent strip, so don't put too much weight in that reading. IF it were high with other high readings, then it might hold weight.

Thank you for taking a look! I definitely do need to get used to the timing and exactly which ones I’m looking at when…I will try again as soon as I can and post those too. Hopefully tomorrow, but my mom just arrived from out of state for the first time in a year, so it will be a busy next couple of days. This is also her first time seeing George since his diagnosis so this whole routine is definitely going to be quite the spectacle for her haha.

Totally get it. Don't worry too much though. Trust me, those results are not the results of a raging UTI. I wouldn't blink if I saw those for Temp, and I test a LOT.

He's going great, have fun with family and don't stress over it, at least for a few days.

Yup, you're completely right. First sample of the day is most accurate is what I've read.
Since he's in such good numbers, he's not going every 1-2 hours, so his USG can stand to be a little more concentrated, right?
