Yesterday's condo

Charms numbers continue to look good. Made him some chicken today! All the cats are happy! Charms still seems too hungry and thirsty for these numbers. Will call the vet back again tomorrow. Snuggled on the couch, scratched his tree, that's a good day for Charms! -Sam

that's my idea of a perfect day too! well, maybe not scratching the cat tree, but lazing around on the sofa sounds great. ;-)

Charms sure is looking great - what a nice ss. when you hit that breakthrough dose he sure responded to it. i hope his weight stabilizes. did your vet have a suggestion about why he was losing weight?

Hi Julie - Thanks for the visit! When Charms was first diagnosed with diabetes my vet thought he might have a thyroid condition, but his thyroid checked out ok, so he started treating him for diabetes. Then when Charms did not respond well to the insulin, he thought maybe it was a thyroid condition that did not show up on the initial bloodwork and he wanted me to have more blood work done to rule it out again, I waited until I was able to get his diabetes under control, with the help of everyone here, but when I saw that Charms was still very thirsty and hungry I did take Charms back for additional bloodwork. Again the thyroid tests came back normal. I know that people can test negative for thyroid and still have thyroid problems so I called him back and asked him about that, but it has been over a week and he has not gotten back to me. Charms kidneys were fine also. He did have slightly elevated liver enzymes, that the vet said were probably caused by the diabetes. Is there anything else you might think of that might be causing Charms to continue to lose weight? He is free feeding YAZC so he has access to food all of the time.

that's interesting that he's still losing weight with YA. It's pretty high calorie.
And if he's eating more than a few tablespoons a day.... then he's getting plenty calorie wise.

Has he had an Ultrasound?
