Good Morning!
As I mentioned yesterday, I started Benjamin on low phosphorus food. The first one I tried is the Evo 95% chicken and turkey. I fed some for dinner and snack last night, breakfast this morning, mixed with some DM. This morning he has very soft poop, definitely not his normal. He has previously not had any trouble when changing foods. Should I give this one more time, or decide now that this food won't work for him? I also gave him some of his althea/fortiflora/bentonite clay mixture in his food this morning to help firm up that poop.
Have a great day!
Update: I've been looking at the food chart again and noticed that all the foods that are low carb and low phosphorus are also very high in fat. Much higher than the DM. I suspect that may be what is causing the poop problem. I sure don't want to trigger pancreatitis. I would love ideas from anyone else that also has a FD/CKD kitty!
