So giving the dry mixed with enzymes was a total disaster. He ate the food no problem but I guess I misjudged the quantity of enzymes to give and he stopped eating the rest of the day and sat hunched and drooling. and had diarrhea. Just not what he needed. He has been having enzyme issues since the issue with the inaccurate measuring spoons a couple of weeks back. So we are resetting. Back to a slightly heaped 1/8 tsp and see where we go from there.

He is perky and happy today. Nice to see compared to yesterday. Doesn't seem as thirsty either....

Morning BaileyBear - glad you're feeling better today. MamaBean's tryin' SO hard to get everything right for you...hope today is better. KT had to have a sprinkle of enzymes this morning too, we had bad smelly liquipoo. He had his probiotics so I know it was enzymes he needed.

BIG HUGE HUGS Wendy - this balancing act is awfully hard,

Did you get him tested for epi? If that is the issue then he will need enzymes with every meal forever as he otheriwse can't process the food and will have diarrhea.

Re: 10/27 Bailey AMPS 268

No Wendy, I didn't get him tested for it...heck, my vet can't even test for Pancreatitis, they don't stock supplies for either test. On top of that, our regular vet was gone, it was a substitute that told me Fortiflora was digestive ENZYMES....WRONG! All I could do was read and read and read then read some more, throw out things that didn't match until I had a short list of possibles. It included Triadis, EPI and Pancreatic failures. We were already doing the probiotics which wasn't fixing it so added the enzymes as a last ditch effort to save him. I truly believe he was literally hours away by the time I did enzymes which helped him begin digesting food.

All I can do is watch him like a hawk and stalk his LB actions....when it's liquipoo, stinky and cream colored, he didn't get it digested well. If it's just liquipoo and stinky but color is right, it's probiotics that fixes it.

Scientific huh....

Whatever works.

I have a question for everyone though - in my eyes Bailey is losing weight - I think I can see his hip bones and chest bones more. More every day. But when I weigh him, his weight hasn't changed.

How is this possible? DH says I am imagining it. Would dehydration look the same?
