Getting really frustrated. I am going to get some mid-cycle tests in today but he is usually pretty flat. I can't believe that his dosing may be going up. Maybe Lantus isn't the right insulin for him anymore :YMSIGH:

Really discouraged. It's like he is not getting any insulin at all.

Looks like we are going up to 1.75u
 
How long as he been on it? Exp dates still good, always in the fridge? Getting close to the last few doses in the pen?

With Lucian, it's not the type of insulin, Lev has been beautiful for him. Just don't know what's causing his numbers.

I think Lucian was up to 2+units of Lantus at one point, but could never get any stability at any dosage. Alska has been very stable, he could just need a increase for a bit. I'd try to work with the lantus until he starts acting crazy like Lucian did, which Alska has NEVER done. He has been stable since the get go, he could just need a little more until he levels off again and then try to reduce back.

Lantus works beautifully for the majority of cats, Lucian is a severe minority. Give Alska a little more time. :-D

I don't know Debbie. He has been unstable for a month now. Lantus is kept in fridge at all times, expires 1/2016, new pen as of two weeks ago when I thought last pen was bad. I am having problems with my cornea so it is difficult to see anything in the middle of the night. Maybe after treatment I can get a night test. I can only make him comfortable until he goes.
