Busy night but I'm so HAPPY with Ravan's BG!! :D:D:D

I saw your comment in Tiny Sole's thread:
After 9 months of testing without a problem Ravan has started to protest. His right ear is just about useless no blood & he has a bunch of tiny bumps all along the edge that won't go away.
I'm stuck with using only the left ear. He runs now when I get ready to test? I use the Neosporin & all the other "tricks" I think he's just had enough? Any suggestions?
It *might* be the Neosporin. Several of us have had trouble using Neopsporin. Kitty develops bumps on their ears and the ears appear to be sore to the touch. Hopefully others will see this and suggest alternatives to Neosporin. I switched to a salve that I had already been using for years for dogs, cats, and in a pinch... grandchildren! It's called "Halo Cloud Nine Herbal Healing Salve for Dogs and Cats":
  • Helps support healing for cuts, wounds, abrasions, and scabby areas within days
  • Helps soothe hot spots
  • Made with natural oils, beeswax, and vitamins
  • No chemicals
  • No artificial colors or preservative
Ingredients: vegetable oils [almond, castor, coconut, avocado], beeswax, squalene, carnuba wax, vitamin A, vitamin E, calendula, aloe vera gel concentrate, comfrey, tea tree oil, myrrh gum oil, Lavender Oil.

Unlike Neosporin, there's no concern if one of your other cats ingests the salve from grooming Ravan. There's a store locator on the web site.

Just an idea that might help...

@Marje and Gracie

I expected a bounce, Ravan's gone thru good #'s & High bounces before. Today has me worried. He does not want to eat ,at all. Sleeping all day. Only got up once to pee.
I again offered food at 4pm. He wouldn't even take a bite got up & vomited white foam. First time this has happened. Ravan never vomits. This is such a drastic change from the last few days?

Any thoughts on this?

@Marje and Gracie

Ravan had a large portion of Med Carb FF at +3 I did not expect him to drop so much in just 2 hrs 122 to 47. Is this what you meant when you told me ,when a cats wants a reduction the food won't help?

I kept him above 50 for nearly 24 hrs " yesterday "with Med carb food. I hate to reduce so soon? I'll see where he goes the rest of the night.

Another 47 +8 ( Lots of Med carb food) This boy wants a reduction!

Wow, that is a crazy drop after feeding MC food to slow him down. I am so sorry he is not tolerating the food now.
I don't have any advice for you, but I am sending hugs and prayers that you find the solution quickly. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

It's not that he isn't tolerating the food,his body wants a reduction. (that's a GOOD thing!) I'm reluctant to reduce yet because I don't want a failed reduction.

Marje told me when a cat is ready for a reduction the food won't stop it. 2 47's is telling me to reduce.:)

I tried to see your Profile page but it said Error? Are you micro dosing with calipers? It sounds stressful to do that?
Bailey's SS looks Great! I read on his SS that you stopped the dry food! That's very good. There are some kitties that have gone into remission when ALL dry food was eliminated :D

Hope you have a great weekend! :)

Thanks for letting me know. I had no idea.

I was using calipers, but I just can't see them well enough. I'm using a microscope, and it has made a huge difference. I can see the syringe so well!
I will start practicing with counting drops, and double checking with microscope to have a better idea of the microdosing.

Hope you gave a great weekend too!:)
