Day 18 @ 2.75 Units Lantus

Good Morning....Good Friday Morning!!
Hope everyone has fabulous plans for a marvelous weekend that you all deserve so much!!

Yoyo stayed pretty low all night.
(Low to me is staying in the 70's while I am trying to sleep, yes trying to sleep;))
So I kept steering him with gravy and kept testing him...poor boy:cat:

Please surf safely Kitties:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hope you have a great day Debra and I hope you can get a couple of cat naps in too! :bighug:
Yoyo looks fantastic and I'm sure he loved all that gravy along with the pokes! :p:D:p

Glad you were able to keep sweet Yoyo safe last night Debra! He sure likes to make you work for it eh!?

I’m so glad we’re on the cusp of the weekend! I don’t have any plans but still I’m looking forward to it :)

Sending continued wishes of safe surfing to the beautiful Yoyo - Tina has been keeping more secrets from me lately about their adventures; I just hope they are feeling good!
Hard to believe it's already Friday - take care of yourself Debra:bighug:

He’s looking great and I’m so proud of you for shooting that AMPS with no hesitation.

What do you think he’d do if you didn’t use the 20% at +1 and +2? This is a good dose for him and the flatter the curve gets, usually the less carbs it takes (of course until they earn that reduction by dropping lower, right? ;)). I’d love to see him just surf with a 10-12% food if at all possible. However, that’s just a thought; you are doing great with him and it seems to have worked; he came up some but so far, the duration hasn’t been clipped too much.

I just want to keep in mind that if you manipulate with HC too much, it becomes difficult for us to see what his real nadir is; in the case of today, it likely brought him up higher. I completely understand when you need to do it at night to sleep; no discussion from me on that one. And I’m just tossing some thoughts out, anyway.

I will keep it in mind when I give him gravy. Yesterday, 10/24, at the PM cycle I did offer 12% gravy throughout the night. At +9 I ran out of the 12% gravy and opened a 20% can of gravy that I had stored in my room for quick access. So I gave him 20% at +9 because I believe he was at 72 and I thought that low for him at that time. Then when I did his +11 test at waking up time for us he was still on the low side for him at 83. What I'm trying to say here is that sometimes there is no BIG reaction from the high gravy(20%). It seems the 12% acted like the 20% last night. I know he reacts differently to the food and gravy just like on certain days he reacts differently to insulin. It is so hard to know what to always feed him to keep him safe. I guess in my mind the 20% is my SAFE TARGET gravy. With the 12% it can be iffy to me, but I will try to offer a lower gravy. I do have 15% gravy(from grilled foods). I will try and use that as a substitue for the 20% and then more 12% gravy and see where it takes him.

I always say, I wish he came with an instruction booklet:joyful:

Sorry for rambling on above about the food but it helps me see the bigger picture.
Thank you for the input. I will try the lower %'s.
