Hello LL!!

Yesterday's condo: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=127436

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our super late condo last night! Billie is still doing better appywise today. She seems to like both Instinct rabbit and pork, so I'll be making a run to the pet store for more of those in a bit.

I felt bad after giving her ABs today - I hate having to wrestle with her, and I think this stuff tastes worse than the Clavamox based on her reaction. She seemed very upset with me after. 4 more days/4 more doses, and she should be done at least. I got her Pepcid in successfully this morning with the Vaseline trick, but the trick did not work tonight and I didn't want to shove more meds down her throat since she was already furious.

I don't like these numbers at all, and I don't really know what is causing them. Bounce? Veraflox? Pain? (I hope not) The UTI? She isn't showing the UTI symptoms anymore - less frequent trips to the litter box. I shot the 1.5 again this evening (and shot about an hour early since she was clearly headed up). When I saw that +8, I thought maybe she was in a long slide down, or maybe she would hang out in yellow. If she doesn't come down in this cycle, I think I'll go back to 1.75 tomorrow.

She's playing right now, so she must feel at least somewhat normal! And, I think she is giving me a pass to go out to some Halloween parties tonight :-D As a black cat, Billie is always in costume, but I have to figure out what I will wear. I have a banana suit, a green tutu, and some makeup and fake blood. I think I can work with that  I'm not planning on leaving till +4 just in case she changes her mind and decides that I should stay in. It would be nice to see some blue at least.

I hope everyone is having a good day! Sending vines to all the cats and beans needing vines.

Hope Billie is feeling better and still eating well Deanna! Sorry you are sturggling to get the AB down, poor baby- I hate that but hopefully this new one will get the job done. I know in if I have to take antibiotics, I take a probiotic to restore balance in the gut, anyone know if this would help in a kitty? Are you using a pill pocket for the Pepsid? I think Elise wraps the pill in one as it tastes bitter. I don't have any dosing advice but hopefully once the infection clears, her numbers will come down too. Hope she feels better and you enjoy the party! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Probiotics are an excellent idea whether kitty is on an AB or not, but especially when he/she is. A lot of us give Forti Flora, but there are others that are just as good and some that are less expensive. Two of my kitties LOVE FF ( I call it kitty crack) and will eat almost anything when I sprinkle it on top. The other two want nothing to do with it!

Some other members have mentioned that their kitty's BGs go up when they are on an anti-biotic, so you may be experiencing that, Deanna. You may find, if you increase to compensate, you'll be decreasing again once the AB is out of Billie's system. So don't let the dosecrease get you down. Hopefully it's only temporary.

I can relate on the pilling difficulty. I'm sorry, I don't recall if you are using a pill shooter or doing it by hand? I have much better luck with the shooter, myself, but I know Amy does pretty well pilling Trixie by hand. Are you giving her any food after the AB? I used to give Cinco something he really liked - even just a bite or two - to distract him and take away the bad taste. He forgave me a lot faster that way. Also, if you haven't tried pill pockets, they are worth a shot. Some kitties go for them, and some don't. Too bad we can't just explain to our babies that this will make them feel better and get them to take it for us, huh? ;-)

I'm glad Billie is eating well. I hope you had fun at the parties and that the dosecrease brings better numbers
