Did you steer with LC only? Also, are you doing 3 drops below 50 as I noticed you didn't take the reduction yesterday.

To answer your question, you could probably go hourly now but, I am such a testaholic that I probably would test every 30 mins through nadir.

I've been doing 20 minute, and then 30 minute. I'm short on strips, so hourly might be best, but I can feed her LC every 30 minutes, which will be a bit safer I think
I was told that I had to have 3 drops below 50, or 1 drop below 40. So this is my third drop. I think it went too low for my comfort though. I am wondering if I should have reduced it this morning - I did skinny it.

I bet TiTi went too low last night. I was going to stay up for a +4 +6, but I went out like a stone dropping into a well, right after TiTi's +3.5 which was only 87. I think I do need one of those high pitched, vibrating, violent alarm clocks.

OOps, just saw the food part of your message.
I steered with LC at the 40BG, but went to HC-1tsp, when she only rose to 62. That 62 was a red flag, because ordinarily she would have soared into the 80s-100s.

Congratulations on the reduction. Let's see if she holds the 7.5u this time round. Great job Kathy.

I think you did the right think waiting for the three drops, looks like she came up easy enough, if a bit slower than her usual self.
Hourly should be OK , she has been rising the last hour. So get the next test in at +6 seeing as +5 was the last test.

I would sleep through two alarms sometimes when we were doing the FD dance:oops: the only way I would get up was if I put the alarm so I would have to physically get out of bed to turn it off:rolleyes:

That's reassuring.
I don't think fire sirens would have awakened me.
I think she will hold 7.5U. She held it from 9/3 to 10/4 the last time. Then she experienced serious constipation that required surgical intervention. Within the same time period she escaped 4 times to scarf down kibbles. One raid resulted in her acquiring the mother lode of kibbles. That combo knocked her right back to 8U.

It was surprising difficult to get her back down to this dose. Do you have any theories as to why it took so long?

Wow Titis keeping you on your toes.:D I can remember all those long nights up with Caesar checking every hour, forgetting to breathe, happy when he would bounce so I could get some rest. lol In the long run all those sleepless nights where worth it. Best part there was always some one there from the forum talking me through it and advising me . (couldn't have done it on my own) Congrats on the reduction, that's always exciting. Hope she stays in the green and sending good vines she continues to surf safely.:bighug::bighug:

I think they probably just get used to those higher numbers, perhaps a touch of glucose toxicity sets in and then you just have to give a bit more juice to get them back on track.

It's not an uncommon pattern to see.

Titi, nor more kibble raids please!!

TiTi ? Did you hear Auntie Gill?
That makes sense, because TiTi did do some high, and then very low bounces, especially when when she hit green again.
I was going to ask you what Glucose Toxicity is, but I went online and looked it up instead. It's a destructive thingy. Sure am glad TiTi seems to have gotten over it.

Congrats on the reduction, but I see the spreadsheet shows you shot 8U instead of 7.5 tonight. I would definitely go with 7.5U tomorrow morning. You don't want to have to deal with an overfull depot.

For cats with high dose conditions, I don't think you have to be as strict with this rule. And the TR Sticky does mention larger reductions as a possibility for high dose cats. With a high dose condition, there can be something else in play besides a pancreas healing, such as antibody action or an acro tumor pulsing up or down. Those changes can happen quickly. A higher dose always makes me more cautious. I think it's fine to try the 3 drops rule, unless you find it's too hard to wait that long. Basically, you have to find what works for Titi. Use the "rule" as a guideline and tweak as needed.
