I'm SO sorry! I just realized that I've only been updating people on my FB about Sunny. I've been a little overwhelmed, with Sunny, work, school, and now my Squeaker also becoming very ill (he seems a bit better today, thank goodness).

She's been with Jenna since Monday noon-ish, and her BG is still not under control, but it is getting better. Jenna got some Regular insulin to supplement the Levemir until the Lev starts working the way it needs to. (Info is on Sunny's SS if anyone is interested.)

She had a vet visit yesterday, and all her blood values are either improving or staying stable, so that's excellent news! She's still eating some dry, though I know Jenna is doing her best to transition her back to all-wet. I personally think that if Sunny is going to do on hunger strikes if she doesn't get dry to go with her wet, it isn't worth the struggle, and we should just shoot around the dry...but of course I know that isn't the best thing to do, IF we can get her back on all-wet. We'll see how it goes.

Please keep sending Sunny (and Jenna!) good thoughts!

Some cats are particularly stubborn when it comes to dry food. You do what you have to. Hopefully Jenna is able to get Sunny back on exclusively wet food because the numbers do look much better. :thumbup

Good thoughts being sent!

Not sure what all Jenna is doing with Ms Sunny but it looks like she is working her magic again with that little girl. Way to Go Jenna!!!! Really wish we could figure out the difference between the two places. So Sunny could stay in those beautiful numbers. Makes me wish I had a crystal ball at times. Sigh

She definitely has the magic touch! Right now, though, Sunny is getting a lot more insulin than I was giving her. She's also eating very low-carb wet food - I realized that I wasn't being very consistent in the carb level of what I was feeding her, in my "OMG, must get her to eat SOMETHING" fits. I think she's still also on fluids, though I'm not sure what effect those might have on the BG #s.

I'm scared Sunny will come back to me and I'll get her all screwed up again.

Hon, this is just one of those live and learn kind of things, we can only do the best we can with what we have to work with. Maybe this time when Sunny comes back home you and Jenna can go over every last detail of what she is doing and what you need to be doing with her so that she says on an even keel. I know I have seen cats go either way. Heck even my Maxwell was like that, except in reverse. With her he was staying in the 200s-300s then he gets out here to me after no insulin for 24 hours and he is broken within days. What's the difference between the two places? The world will never know and his foster mom has light years more experience with diabetic cats than me, so it wasn't anything I was doing differently, just in one place he was higher than he should be, with us he's been OTJ 4 years. <shrug>
