So feed +1, +2, +3 and +4?

I can test at +2 before I go to work.

I have to go at +2.

I can come back briefly at +5...might be more likely +5.5, then I will be out til PMPS
 
Sounds good. You might get a repeat of 22/10 but hopefully, food at +3 and +4 will prevent him dropping low. Will he eat from the autofeeder?
 
Oh yes that is true, I am not fully sure, but I have been encouraging it.

So its a bit chancy.

And also one is so random as to if it opens.

Its not that he is scared of it, Its that he doesnt realise there is food in there. But if I put it right next to him today there is a chance he might as I have been getting him to eat out of there this weekend....just haven't tested progress yet.....

Totally imperfect situation.

The new one is arriving later this week. .......
 
If you leave food out for him in a bowl when you go to work, will he gobble it down all at once or will he graze on it for the next 2-3 hours?
 
So basically one of the two things def works on time (its not digital its a timer so always a bit inaccurate but good enough) so he will get his +3.....its just the other one I haven't figured out if its totally random or for instance I set it to one hour and it opens after 2.

I haven't really had to use it before so i just realised now that I am trying its not good enough....and I need more than 2 ...so that is why I have bought the new one (actually second hand bt they say they hardly used it)

Timer set for +3 and +4. Hoping for the best.

I know I seem quite muddled. I think the dodgy one works better when set at the 2 hour mark ( will be for the +4) its just fingers crossed it docent get stuck

He was sitting next to 2 bowls of food, open but untouched!!!!

I gave him one and closed the other for an hours time, (the side that works!)

I have to go back out to work soon. Hopefully that will be ok.

He's super chilled but alert

I have run out of food from his normal amount from the morning.

At this time would it be ideal to leave him more food or do you think hes ok now?

Good to know that if I see it flattening out like that I dont need to feed.

So I have 2 more saved portions of his meal left. What do you think would be the best time to give them to him?

Would that always be +3 and +4?
 
I'm not really sure what to do. I need to go to bed. I have given him all his food now.

Should I leave extra food in feeder?
 
Sorry you got no responses. It was a relatively gentle Lantus cycle last night, so a snack at +4 and maybe another one in the feeder for +5 or +6 would have been fine.
 
No worriesyou cant be there all the time and like I said before I am so thankful for all your incredible generous help . I did a +5 and a +6 and left it in the feeder. Next time I'll try with just one.

The great news is the food was gone from the feeders so he's getting the hang! (Just as a totally different one is about to arrive) but hopefully the concept will carry on!
