Amps 329 Libre

Ouch, what a high Amps! Still rebalancing the depot after lowering her Lantus dosage two days ago when she went to the vet (fasting for labs). It takes time to stabilize.
Last night at PMPS she dropped lower so I guess this morning is her body‘s reaction to that lower number.

Her appetite seems better today so I think we’re headed in the right direction. (I think it takes time for the gabapentin and trazodone to get out of her system).

I did get a call from the vet last night and her T4 was the same as it was a month ago so we are increasing her methimazole to 2.5 mg twice a day and will retest again in a month. The vet felt it was at least good news that the T4 did not increase but stayed the same, but we just need to get it to come down :arghh:
Urinalysis and other lab values were stable:)

And so the balancing act goes on.
Activated a New Libre sensor this morning, so thank goodness that’s already up and running.

Hope everyone has a safe surf and a good day:cat:

Good morning Staci.
A brief visit to Mars - maybe Ivy wanted to see what Mikan does over there every now and then :p
I'm sure she's recalibrating and will return to her usual pattern soon.

I know it's disappointing that T4 hasn't gone down but I think your vet is right, Staci. You are definitely going to the right direction. This increase should really help. 2.5mg/d x 2 a day is the upper side of the starting dose, so Ivy is still at the lose dose range. ;) I bet you will see the decreased level next time! Good to hear that other things are stable!

Hope Ivy comes down nicely and you have a nice (relaxing!) day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,

happy the urine is clear and the other lab results are stable! I can imagine the T4 was dissapointing. :( But maybe that is the price for doing the right thing: going up slowly with the dose. Today I would do the same but Binie started with 2x2.5 mg directly. I think what you are doing is much better and safer for Ivy.

And after the pink start Ivy sees nice blue numbers today! Yeah! And so glad, she is eating better. That makes everything easier, right?

Congratulations the activation of the new libre worked! Such a relief...

Safe surfing you two! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Kit, I sure hope you’re right. Slow and steady with the dosing, which is safer I think.
You were right she just wanted to see up on Mars what Mikan is so fascinated by and she decided to come back down and she hit some lower numbers already today. So that was good news.

Working today, so no rest or relaxing. Boy senior clients can be demanding (lol).

Hope you are having a good day, Kit. Hugs to your sweet kitties :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike,
We just have to keep hoping that we will get this T4 under some control. It’s definitely stressing me out. I know you understand. And she definitely had more of an appetite today so I think she’s back to feeling better after the sedation two days ago.

She’s spent a good portion of the day in my closet again hanging out in the jeans section. She must like that casual mom department.

As you know, I hold my breath for that whole hour when the Libre is warming up. Waiting waiting to see a number pop up and hoping it’s going to be a sensor. I can count on for the next who knows how long. Like you said the other day, it’s a real love-hate relationship with the sensor. And yes, I think it’s a toxic relationship also ;)
I just wish I could send good sensor vibes your way so the most recent one you put on Binie didn’t fail.
We just never know why it fails, why it didn’t work, or why it continues to work.
I feel like it’s a wing and a prayer with this technology.
When it works it’s awesome but when it doesn’t, it really, really sucks:(

Wishing you a very calm next few days until you get another sensor installed. Sending lots of love your way :bighug::kiss::bighug:

Nice to see her numbers coming down, and it's great that she's eating again! I hope tomorrow will be an even better day :bighug::cat::bighug:
Thanks, Karen. That was quite a start with that pink number this morning. Never like seeing a pink first thing in the morning or of course, a lime. Either one….no thank you.
Hope you and Chispa are having a nice calm day:bighug::cat::bighug:

Hi Staci, what a nice cycle Ivy is having today. I'm happy to hear her appetite is back.
increasing her methimazole to 2.5 mg twice a day should hopefully help, I'm praying it does :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Awwww thanks so much Diane. Your good wishes and prayers are always appreciated and mean so much to us.
I hope you are feeling great and everything’s going OK:)
Ivy and I send hugs and kisses

So glad Ivy is getting back to her old self with good numbers. Such good news that everything looked good and that the T4 was at least the same and not gone up. Good luck with the new dose!
