I'm sorry she has the Lantus smell. I'm not sure how to get rid of it. Do you have any baby wipes you could try rubbing her fur with? I don't know if that will work though.
 
Sorry to read that Hyde still has high numbers, lots of vines that you see some better yellows soon. Time perhaps for another doscrease, these acrokitties are notoriously bad to get control of. Did you think any more about trying the R insulin Anne?
 
If you need more Lantus soon, have you thought about switching to Lev. I know it's a lot to try to convince the vet to do. Interesting that you need a prescription to get R, where most states do not. If you need some help with your vet, the first article I posted here, Acromegaly in 14 cats, talks about using R with them.

Do you rotate your injections around? I wonder if switching to the flank or side for a while will help you figure out whether there was a fur shot. The other thing to play with is length of needle. Some people get more joy with a shorter or longer needle on the syringe. If I'm having a run of fur shots, I'll try a shorter length. For me they always seem to come in groups of three. :oops:
