It is hard to not be frustrated after the last several days with Tucker. As you can see from my ss we had unshootable pmps and I saw light at the end of the tunnel! I began tweaking his am dose so we could get a better pmps. Now the numbers are back in pinks again :YMSIGH:

Clearly I did something wrong? I am going to take a look at how much food is being dispensed in the feeder as a possible source of the increased glucose (that would be bean error, not machine!) since his appetite has increased and he has been cleaning out the feeding sections as they rotate.

I am thinking that I need to use a sliding scale but I can't seem to come up with numbers for one. Can anyone help?

Well, I can try to get you started. He isn't throwing very predictable patterns so I would just start with a trial scale. Then, keep an eye on how it is working and adjust as needed. Looks like on 10/20, 3.25 might have been too much for a yellow as you got an unshootable pmps. Although it worked fine on 10/18. 3.25 on the pink pre shots looks like it is a little too little, at least for some cycles. So maybe start with 3.5 on the higher pink preshots and 3/3.25 on the yellows (depending on whether they are on the higher or lower side) and see how he looks for a few cycles.

Have you considered getting U100 needles and using the conversion chart?

They will let you give smaller gradient doses, like 3.2, 3.4 and 3.6.

Aack!! I had a really long reply written out and got an error when I tried to submit!! Oh well...

I think the main culprit for the pinks lately is the new feeder. I think Tucker was getting too much to eat once he realized he got "fresh" food deliveries during the day and it wasn't as scary as he thought! I reassessed the amounts in each od the compartments and made adjustments. Hopefully this will help.

The starting numbers look great for the sliding scale. Once I get his intake regulated his numbers should be more predictable and I can fine tune the dosing. I have been thinking to change to the U-100 syringes and will do so soon, I think.

Thanks!
Jen
