Good morning dear FMDB members,

It's been some time since I posted, laziness or other things to be address brought me in some others
files. The sugar one is going pretty good, keep faith those with reddish cats, it's possible to get this
sh.. (oups) back to some encouraging results. See Small Kitty, go back one year of so (still loosing
track of time here), he was a disaster on legs. Now, he can switch from the darkness of the night to
beautiful sun within 12h. See this morning, he's in ''space'', he might have seen some starts tonight
cause he ran very low. It has happened before, no freaking, it's all fine. Thing is not to freak, unless
you're ending into the ketone business (it has happened here), you're fine. Check this up if your cat
stop eating, this is a flag raiser to be taking seriously. Check for ketone in the different way available
and run for the vet if it's happening. If your cat is fine there and not going too low too often, keep the
faith ! (Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith).

Keep the faith is what I need right now, things are not easy right now. Told you things are going

on keeping me away from the forum ? One is the epilepsy file. This **** (no oups) is really what it is.
Nasty as FD exponential 1000. It can blow up in your face right where it should not. In the metro,
at airshows, at work, going downhill in bike cycle, while riding your 400cc dirt bike in the forest
with nothing around but darkness. Hate that thing, it's been running on for quite some time now
and being pitched (gently) from one ''solution'' to another is what's been going on since my childhood.

There has been some major kicks of hope in the last few decades. We, here in Montreal, have one of
the best place for that kind of thing. There Montreal Neurological Hospital is withing the most prominent place for that kind of stuff. Back in 1996 the opened the hood after intensive testing to see if removing a faulty part could fix me up, it didn't.... Made the jump again 10 years later, stopping the medication, plugging me on a computer and wait for epilepsy seizure to blow up to see where they are coming from.
Heck that the human body is complex.. and when you're playing up there it's even more tricky. Is the guy going to be able to talk the way it should ?? Walking straight ?? Talk in way that's making sens ???
All that was fine in my case, told you, thy know what they're doing. Both surgeries were kind of ''stealth''. Some time forget if I gave the shot to my cat or now, put things where it's kind of making sens and forget where they are.. but it's all part of the game. If you're doing nothing, nothing is going to happens. You got to jump and take some risk. Your cat is on a high dose and you know he's going to take days to get back to blue or even better green, shot haft dose and see. This is why you have a brain, judge and jump.

The jump is becoming hard here. They wanted seizures to record (on camera and computer), they got lots of them. I must have made more then 10 of them so far. I some times jumped over the bed side guard by getting up on my feet and staring running in the place in ''rage'' or terrifying fear. That's what's going on whey it starts, a terrifying fear is raising up from the inside and then it blows up. Its where it should happens, here at the hospital. Nurses on 24h shift are coming in to reassure you and ask all sort of question that you answer without knowing you did. Then comes the fear that it's going to happen again (they come in burst). Your busted P-38 Lightning is riding to the airbase with a German fighter behind ready to fire, you just don't know WHEN.

All that is cooling down now. They brought me back to the airbase last night by putting medication back online. They got enough battle damage to know what are the weakest points. I feel ''strange'' but no fear. Neurologists, neurosurgeons, psycho specialist are meeting right now deciding on what's next. Will know some time this week on what's going to happen.

Hope sugar level will straighten up like Small Kitty's one with nice recovery, will see.

Keep on all, whatever the situation is there is solutions, just need to find them and with
some luck you can get where you want to go.

See you some time later.

Sébastien

I'm glad SK is doing well overall. I hope the doctors can come up with a good plan to help you. Sending prayers.

Good to hear from you Sebastien. Sorry it is under such circumstances that both you and small kitty are going through health issues. mega vines that things calm down for you a bit and that small kitty behaves while you deal with your health.:bighug::bighug:

(((SEBASTIAN)))

Thinking of you and sending prayers and healing energy :bighug::bighug:

Met with the Doctor earlier and we are going forward. He told me that there is very interesting
information the gathered from the video camera and EEG during my seizure. This time in bed
expecting something to blow up did worth the pain. Decided will be the possibilities of reform in
medication, insertion of electrodes pushing brain waves into the brain from a ''pace maker'' for the
brain or bringing me back to the hospital to have deep electrodes implanted to gather data from
what's going on deep inside the brain during the seizure.

In the mean time I'm here until I can stand on my feet without going face down. Right out of hospital
I'll go to a place for medical weed so I can cool down at home for one full week :) :woot:.

Was walking on eggs when I talked to my new doctor cause the one before told me I was running
for trouble by taking stuff outside what he was prescribing. Had had stuff in the past that I grew
up in a hidden spot and it did work very well. When a seizure is about to come up I just take a big
puff and it melts the seizure right before it can run any further.

Will see, future is bright and to be apprehended with positive thoughts.

Sébastien, I am so sorry to read about all you've been going through. I hope this doctor's plan for you will give you a better life.

Looking at SK's spreadsheet, it looks like your pet sitter gave insulin when SK was at 47. Please tell me that isn't correct? If he/she did give insulin, SK needs to be monitored very, very closely.

Please keep us updated on how you're doing, when you can.

Sending vines and prayers.

You've been through the "brain wars" again and again, Sébastien. This is such an eloquent description of what you've been through and what a coming seizure feels like to you. It has to be terrifying. It's hard to understand the level of bravery needed to face what you face. I hope the doctors can figure out a treatment plan that helps you - along with a little of the funny stuff, home grown or otherwise! ;)

Sébastien - what an ordeal but it sounds like you have a great medical team there
Very high hopes for a good and lasting resolution - sounds like a new, improved treatment plan is being developed.

agree with Tricia about concern if SK got 1 unit with a amps of 47

WOW, thanks for warning me up, she didn't give any insulin, the NS number is from 72 down. So NO, there has been
no insulin. I filled the SS while still a bit messed up I guess. He will be pink this evening for sure if not red. He'll recover
within a day or less. Knock on wood :)

Thanks for the warning !

Could not sustain it anymore. Like I was describing it to the doctor I always felt like if a bullet was coming
towards me with a sure hit or being across the street with a mad car driver about to hit me. Working haft
of not I'm glad to back on medication, feel fuzzy and weak but no seizure last night. Hope it will remain that way.

*Grass is not as simple as I tought, seems there is no escape from bureaucracy even when coming from a
highly regarded neurologist. The clinic told me they will need my entire medical records to open a file
with a 3 months waiting list to think about it. Heck, will stick with chemical (medication) already handy.

Well, it'll be legal here in Canada before too long. Will that help you?

I helps indeed. This feel that something is coming up can be stopped right away with a simple inhalation.
You're also right about legalization next summer. I'll tell them to go to hell with their bureaucracy, that they
are out of their mind for something that is for no other objective then stopping seizures and preventing fear
described above.

Good to hear from you. Small Kitty seems to be doing well, and you are getting some better treatment. Hopefully, the new meds and electrodes will stop the too frequent seizure activity. Bon Jovi.

Good to hear from you Sebastien. Sorry you're having su h a bad time with the seizure s hope the new treatment plan kicks in soon and they settle down.

I did a  on the 47, glad the sitter didn't shoot.

Outch, that one will be hard to recover, just received the GL from the pet sitter, one of the worst result ever... :blackeye:

Will see how good Small Kitty is to recover, hope he'll get back on his legs any time soon :(

Love you my sweet Sébastien.

Your boys will be beyond thrilled to have you home. :cat::cat:

I pray they can get it all straightened out and get the issue(s) resolved. I believe strongly in medical MJ (legal or not ;)). I have seen what it can do in humans and cats.

Hope you are stable enough to go home soon. Nothing better than your own bed surrounded by your kitties (except maybe Amanda :D). :bighug:

You and SK are probably the most resilient souls that I know. :)

Add our best wishes to the stack for the both of you! :bighug:

Best,
Sandi &Whispy.

Hi Sebastien! Good to hear from you and I'm so sorry to hear about your rough ride right now. Hoping your neurological team comes up with a great regime for you ASAP.

I saw a program about dogs that are trained to stay 24/7 with the epileptic and warns them before the seizure hits to keep them safe. Not to sure how SK and BB would go for that. Maybe on of the boys can be trained!

Sending tons on vines to you and the boys.
