Morning all -

Well, she got a fur shot this morning. Dang it! The one day I can actually be here all day to watch her. :YMSIGH: Oh well. Nothing I can do about it, so I won't worry about today.

Last night she gobbled up her dinner, then promptly threw it up. Not sure what that was about, but she headed right back to her food dish and wanted more. I gave her more of the same food and she was fine the rest of the night. confused_cat

Hoping to hear from the vet today. We'll see!

Have a great Saturday!

Re: 10/23 Emma AMPS 217 & a fur shot Vet Update

Just heard from the vet. The good news is the urine culture came back negative - woo hoo! This is great news, as it's a chronic problem for her. Also, her kidneys look great - creatinine and BUN are completely in the normal range. The bad news is her ALT is elevated. Normal is under 100, and hers is 150. This is something new. The doctor wants to do bloodwork in another month and see where it is. If it's still elevated then she would recommend an ultrasound. She said sometimes when they retest the value goes back to normal, and they never really know what happened. So, I don't know - maybe she got into something she shouldn't have. The dr. also wants to hold off on the dental until we have a better handle on what's going on with the liver.

The weird thing is my dog Charlotte had elevated liver values earlier this year. We had the ultrasound done and everything looked normal. I'm guessing it's just a coincidence, especially since it's different values that were elevated, but it's just kind of weird.

So, no dental just yet for Ms. Emma. Overall the doctor was very pleased with the bloodwork. I'm especially happy about the kidneys. I give her 50 mL of sub-Q's every other day, and astaxanthin to help protect the remaining healthy tissue. Looks like that's still doing the trick for now.

Sorry about the fur shot this morning. I hate when that happens!

I'm glad to hear that the vet report was mostly good. Hopefully that high ALT is just a blip and will be normal on the next test!

Not a bad PMPS at all after a fur shot!

That's a good PMPS considering...well, hope you two have a good night. So glad about Emma's results...
I hate having to wait a month to have another test done(I am having to do that for myself now...)
Well, I hope that test shows that all is back to normal for sweet Emma...

:thumbup on the test results. I hope the next batch are even better and she can get those pearly whites taken care of.

good vet report! hoping the elevated number is just a blip, also.

hope you see good numbers tonight.
