WCR: I'm REALLY enjoying these beautiful #s she's giving me. (anti-jinx, anti-jinx).Blackie is continuing to show signs of improvement. She's taking her time eating all of her foods, including lapping the water up, and she's not gobbling up her food like she did back when she was newly diagnosed with diabetes. It makes me wonder if perhaps the diagnosis of p-titis wasn't really there at all... That perhaps it LOOKED like it was there due to all the sups she was getting daily. I don't know. She didn't purr again this morning, which is always a good sign. Currently waiting for a pee to happen as we speak. I found a 3rd poo yesterday, of course outside the box. I don't care. They're firm poos, which is always better than the runny kind.

Last night, she laid on my lap for a good hour at least. I guess she was soaking up my body heat, and in turn getting back rubs from Mama Bean, along with much needed hooman time. Poor Aurora, who is the normal evening lap sitter... She was so up in paws about the whole thing. She would almost jump onto the foot stool of the chair, but would put her front paws on it instead, and look up at my lap. Then jump back down... disgusted.

I'm giving her smaller meals throughout the day. She's now getting 6 mini meals along with the others instead of the PS and +1 meals. I really should've listened to those that suggested mini meals as opposed to larger meals a long time ago. I'm now kicking self. Thought I knew better. Sometimes, you CAN teach this ol' gal new tricks. Maybe... :-D

Morning Angela ~O) ~O) ~O)

I am so glad that Blackie is showing signs of improvement, getting better each day.One step at a time as they say, p'tits does take time to recover from. I am also glad that the smaller meals, spaced out, are working for her. That is very nice. Keep on getting better Blackie!

You've done so well with Blackie. Sometimes our kitties just like to shake things up a bit to keep us on our toes. It is great that the adjustments you've made are working. Kudos!

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Re: 10/23 Blackie AMPS 73 +1 70

Blackie needs her  on her subject line!!

I'm so glad she's feeling better and better. It is possible that she had p-titis - it is really so hard to diagnose with certainty (my own vet doesn't trust any of the blood tests and relies on symptoms plus x-rays [which can still be inconclusive]) - or maybe it was the supplements. The important thing, though, is that she is improving by leaps and bounds! It sounds like you've been able to sidestep fluids, too, which is awesome.

Eating slowly is good. Trix decided to continue with that even after her p-titis flare ended. It takes some getting used to, but as always...the kitties lead the dance and we just follow!

Keep feeling better, Blackie!

Re: 10/23 Blackie AMPS 73 +1 70

Got the  on her subject line. Thank you Miss Amy and Miss Trixie!!!

Yes, Blackie is doing so well!!!! Looking back at how she was last week, she's never stopped eating, or didn't want to eat before her diagnosis. I'm still thinking that perhaps it was the sups that "caused" this in her, and was masking the fact that the pancreas is much better than I thought. I don't know. However, I will continue to do this, and will be testing her when she walks around. I don't like to bug her when she's napping. :-D I want to try and get a later test in this afternoon if at all possible.

Re: 10/23 Blackie AMPS 73 +1 70

Great day for Blackie! Great news that she is feeling good, regardless of the reason. Woohoo!!! have a great day Angela!

Re: 10/23 Blackie AMPS 73 +1 70

P'itis waxes and wanes. The test for it will show elevation if it is active. Therefore it is a snapshot in time. You have to catch it at the right time. Minor episodes can clear quickly. Once diagnosed we stopped testing Max unless he shows signs and we want to make sure we aren't dealing with something else. Since we treat the symptoms and don't have a cure, I give support meds as needed. Many times over the years if one of my cats was inappetent my vet would say it's probably a touch of p'itis and sometimes things would go back to normal without doing anything. That is a good reason not to panic if a cat just isn't acting right for a few days. I'm glad Blackie is doing well.

Beautiful numbers today, and so nice to read that Blackie is eating well and acting like she feels good! Prayers, vines and an attentive bean do work! :-D

Re: 10/23 Blackie AMPS 73 +1 70 +7.5 103 +10.5 118 PMPS 74

Thank you, everyone! :-D I guess you can probably call this a  day. I gave her the regular shot of 1.5u, and I'm sure that she'll drop a bit. I may take a PMPS +1 test to ensure that she doesn't. She's doing wonderfully. I guess she's decided that she doesn't want the sub-q treatment, and is telling me "enough poking, Mom!!!"
