Last Night:
409 PMPS - gave 0.05 R
390 +1.5
120 +7.25
109 +8
98 +9

I can't believe I overslept so bad

At +7.25 I couldn't find J.D. upstairs, I called for him and he did not come. And so I went down into the basement looking for him, and he was sitting next to one of the litter boxes and wasn't coming to me. There was also a whole (gathering of) normal looking poop next to another of the litter boxes.
When he finally came upstairs, he seemed to have a hard time with his right back leg (which is the same leg I give the IM Adequan in). I was wondering if I did the IM shot wrong last Tuesday or something. He was growling at me, but I got it in.
He is due for another shoot of Adequan this morning. I am going to try the left hind leg. Otherwise, this morning he seems fine. He is walking is fine, and he was jumping up and down from the couch and the back of the couch.
I'm going to take him out for a walk in a bit, just to check him out. Also, looking for Ginger's collar which seems to have gone missing.

J.D. seemed fine outside. We did not find Ginger's collar. She is temporarily wearing one of her dress up collars (a 1 inch wide elastic shiney thing with a big pink silk flower on top).
I just gave J.D. is IM Adequan in the other (left) hind leg, and he growled again. I had a piece of steak in my hand as his after shot treat. When the shot was done, he aggresively bit that steak out of my hand. Then he fell off the couch, and at first that hind leg seemed to be shaking. I am just not comfortable giving these shots IM anymore. I tried searching for a video on the internet on giving an IM injection to a cat and found nothing.
J.D. seems okay, now. He just jumped up onto my computer desk looking for more steak.

Oh dear on the IM injection! Is the injection something that he needs everyday? It definitely sounds like it hurts him.

Ginger's collar sounds very fashionable! I hope you all had a nice walk outside.

Have a great day.

Poor Dyana, poor J.D.! It must be very stressful to give those IM shots with J.D. obviously not liking it! I hope someone comes along who can give you advice on that.

Ginger's dress up collar sounds darling!

Re: 10/22 J.D. PMPS 425

The bright side is I was able to shoot his PMPS 1 hour early. We're almost back on schedule.
He has eaten his 1st dinner and is wandering around the house.
We had a very long walk today, looking looking looking for Ginger's collar (not found), where he did some trotting and some galloping. I was actually a little surprised he was so high at +11 after all that exercise. Oh well. He will come down.

Nice that they survivied the reno yesterday. I'm sure you were a nervous lady throughout the day. J.D. please come down from there. Nice that you are back on schedule. Guess J.D. will have to go to work with you tomorrow to earn his vittles. LOL Have a great night. Hope you enjoyed the concert.

J.D. has been trying to go poo for about 45 minutes at least. He keeps going to the litter boxes and trying, and trying. I added some miralax to his 2nd dinner, but it will probably take a while to take affect. I first saw him go downstairs and pee a medium sized pee. And then he went back down again and tried to poo. He ate some of his dinner and then went back downstairs and pooed a tiny bit, came upstairs, ate some more dinner, went back downstairs, tried, but nothing happened, came back upstairs and ate some more of his dinner, back and forth, in and out of litter boxes. I can tell he's trying to poo because his back end is up higher and you see those muscles in his hind quarters trying to push something.
Right now, he is asking to go outside. I'll take him out for a walk. Hope that will help.
Wish us luck, please.

Poor J.D....good luck with the poo.

As for the adequan, I think you should bag doing the IM shots and go subQ. I promise you, it's what we've been doing for Mario since June, and it does work as a subQ injection. I know there are other folks on the board here who do it subQ as well.

Thanks. I just gave him two slices of butter.
Before that, I also fixed up some more soupy FF with bits of shrimp pieces in it to get him to consume more water, although he was drinking this afternoon, having the higher numbers. And he pooed just fine yesterday. I just feel sorry for him, now. I think he needs to relax with a newspaper or a good book  We walked around and he tried several times outside and it was dark so I couldn't see anything, but by the way he headed to the litter box the second we walked in the door and he's tried at least 3 or 4 more since then, I know he wasn't successful outdoors. He does pee a few drops most time he goes in. But, I think it's a poo issue. The way he stands to poo, and the way ..I've seen him poo before and that's what it looks like. Maybe, I'm wrong. Maybe, he's having one of his stress related pee problems, but he peed plenty and fine, all day. Poor guy cat_pet_icon

oh poor little guy. that sounds distressing.

feeling for you on the shots, too. i like amy's idea of giving them sub-q - although i have no experience with it. perhaps you could try it and if you don't think they're working then go to plan B.
