happy Friday everyone !

just wondering if anyone has any info on Baytril ?? callie has been on clavamox since 10/6 I brought in urine sample today and she still has uti so I'm supose to discontinue clavamox and start her on baytril this pm for 10 days once a day I've researched some bad and some good anyone else ever use it ??

also is it ok to give baytril with zolabine ??

answer 1 on your other post

Answer 2: Xobaline is methyl-B-12, is that what you mean? If yes, it is a vitamin and if you are concerned, give it about 2 hours before or after the Baytril.

Note: antibiotics may cause loose stools or diarrhea because they kill off both bad and good bacteria. It can be very helpful to use FortiFlora a few hours AFTER the Baytril, to help repopulate the good bacteria.

I have used Baytril tablets on many of my cats without problem. I like it since it tends to be less disruptive to the GI tract than Clavamox or amoxicillin. Although Baytril can be used one a day, the manufacturer says you can give it either one per day or 1/2 of it twice a day. My vet prescribes it for the twice a day dosing.

I also use baytril with our cats that either can't take one of the amox or if the amox doesn't work. It's all I use for Snowshoe, our asthma civie.

Just fyi - if the liquid is flavored, lots of cats can't handle the berry flavors....none of mine can. I have to buy my amox at CVS 'cos they have 'bubblegum' flavoring which they actually like.

I have given Smokie Baytril several times.
I cannot pill her so i give her Baytril SubQ.
She has had no reaction to it and it has been effective.
I'm sure you have read the side effects of Baytril. I always worry but you gotta do
what you gotta do if they can't be pilled.
