Look at Tink GO!! We've had some really nice preshots the last 3 days. So nice that I still get a bit anxious, wondering if he's gonna go low on me or not. It seems he might be getting the hang of "shoot low to stay low" finally. For awhile there, if I shot anything below about 150, I fully expected to have to spend the next few hours monitoring him closely (not ideal on work mornings!). But, he's done well that last few days.

Still a little worried about this morning since he was slightly lower at +2. I fed him an extra lc meal at +2 and did hang out long enough to get a +2.5 and he'd only dropped a point, so I have the feeder loaded up with lc to go off at +3 & +4. When he DOES drop, he seems to do it FAST - so that he was still flat at +2.5 put me more at ease. Especially since I hadn't used anything higher carb - just his regular food.

On the not as bright side - I am a bit worried about my civvie Hopalong. Up till Tink's dx, Hoppy was MY cat - the one that was super bonded with me. Now they both are. Hoppy is the same age as Tink, and was also quite the tub for most of his life. When we switched over to lc wet, Hoppy FINALLY started dropping some weight. Since Tink's dx and the food switch, he's gone from 14+lb to 9.6, which is a MUCH healthier weight for him - especially with his disability (he was born with severely deformed front legs - hops around like a bunny). BUT... lately he's been losing MORE weight. I'm not sure if he's just not getting enough food (between Tink & Tarzan, he gets his food stolen fairly regularly) or if something else is up. He ACTS fine. But then this morning he didn't eat his food - which is VERRRRRY unlike him. Just in case, I tested his bg (Tink also lost a ton of weight prior to dx), but it was fine (51, after not having any food since the night before). I also weighed him (it had been a couple weeks) and he's down to 8.8 or 9 pounds (my scale wouldn't make up its mind). He did finally eat a small meal a little later in the morning. I just hope he's ok. I LOVE that cat - but the thought of more vet bills is worrisome. My savings is pretty well drained from all Tink's expenses (plus the dog's bout with Parvo this summer). I swear, every animal I get from here on out is getting insurance! Have it on the dog now, but Hoppy's too old to insure. So, please send some healing vines to Hoppy - just in case he needs them. Hopefully he was just having an off morning.

I hope Tink had a nice flat day today while you were at work. He's looking pretty good.

Healing vines going out for civie Hoppy. Does he get fed in the same spot as the others? I pretty much have to guard my civie from Neko or she'll push him out of the way too.

They all eat in the same area, but lately I stand there and watch over them to ensure everyone gets their own and ONLY their own. On the bright side, they clean their bowls in about 10 seconds flat... so it doesn't mess up my day too much.

Hoppy's appetite was back in the PM and I doubled him up on both dinner meals - so he should be caught up on calories for the day. I'm going to double-feed him for awhile and see if we can get some weight back. He feels a bit dehydrated to me too, but acts fine. He's always had a lot of extra skin, and now has lost all that extra flab - so maybe he's not... but I dunno. His eyes/mouth seem fine, it's just his scruff doesn't retract very quickly - but there really is a lot of skin there. With his arms being so deformed, he's always had "wings" of skin - I guess it would have been on his legs had they formed correctly, but it had no place to go??

"Normal" animals do not exist in my home.
