? 10/20 Oberon PMPS 348/0.8, +2 476, +4 452, +5.25 557, +7.5 415

Hanging out in the blues... I've been earwormed by "Surfin' Safari." I have to run teach a class in a few minutes so I'll get a +5.5 when I'm done with class.

174 at +7... looks like he may be heading back up. Off to teach my long class soon, so I'll check him again at +10. But so far that's been a nice 8 hour stretch of blue! If he's over 300 (or even looks like he's nearly there) at PMPS, he'll definitely get some R to see if we can dampen his bounce.

Morning numbers: +9 213, AMPS 159/0.7, +1 166, +2 149, +3 156, +4 141, +6 154, +7 174, +9.5 206

I spent a little time earlier debating whether I'd be able to justify giving some R this evening if he wasn't actually over 300 yet, but clearly heading in that direction. Totally moot point... 348 at PMPS. Yikes! Huge jump from +9.5. Ketones still nice and low (0.8). So we're off and running for the evening with 8 U of Lantus and 1.25 U of R on board. Hopefully it'll help slow the bounce.

452 at +4... geez. But at least it's not still climbing. I'll check once more before bed. I'm half tempted to give him some midcycle R at +6 if I'm up that late, but I wouldn't stay up to monitor, and he wouldn't get checked again until +9 when my husband gets up. Worth considering? If not, definitely in the morning; I'll be around all day to monitor.

And now the R has cleared out, but the Lantus hasn't kicked in yet... 557 at +5.25. A new high for him by far. Grr. More R? Or call it a night?

Lantus has kicked in, it's just not up to the task. :( What you do with R is your call. He should get at least one test while the R is active.

I hate to head off to bed without doing anything when he's still climbing like this. I'm going to give him 1 U of R and set an alarm for 2:30 (Lantus +7.5, R +2). Then my husband can also check him at R +4 or so when he gets up.

OK, all set. Off to bed for a couple of hours. I'm hoping this will be like his other bounces, where he only stays really high very briefly before coming back down to his "normal" 300s again.

Yeah, R overlaid on his usual steep bounce/crash back to the 300s. Slowed down now but I'm holding off on R this morning to see where he's heading first.
