Trying to combine her old food with Hill's at this time.
The PrettyLitter is a waste of money. In spite of Chanel's pH being 8.5, the color of the litter was yellow (acidic) instead of blue.
I ordered the urine pH dipsticks and looking into the info provided by Wendy to see how we can manage Chanel's effort to get rid of the kidney stones. She kept us on our toes the day before yesterday when she did not pee too much and we kept wondering if she is getting a kidney blockage.
The vet suggested Vitamin C solution to be added to her diet, if we are going back to her old diet. Anybody tried that? What was the experience and end results?

By the way, Fancy Feast is higher in phosphorus than ideal. If you can find a lower P food, that would be good. I haven't used vit C, so cant's answer about that.

You also asked about adding water, I meant just to make sure her food is soupy, which is sounds like she likes that anyway. And keeping fresh water around. Maybe try a fountain?

I am trying to find lower phosphorus food that Chanel will like. It is impossible to convince her to like something, if she thinks she does not like it. I just tried the Weruva Paw Licking Chicken and she turn her head and walked away. This will be a battle.
She has one fountain and three water bowls around the living room and master bedroom. She does not adventure in the second bedroom and kitchen is for the servants (me). Still, not willing to drink, so today we took her again for fluids.
Is there someone who can tell me how to calculate phosphorus mg/kcal? I do not seem to get it right and all I have is as-fed.

Thanks

Did you look at the diabetes/CKD table I linked yesterday? There are foods listed and the calculations in that table.

Sorry, just saw it now. I am going to read it and let you know if I have questions. Chanel's PMPS today was 404 and I just gave her another 2U of Levemir. I am sad.
