Re: 10/20 Buddy AMPS 425
Sienne,
As far as the heating bills, he likes the radiator and this time of year is when I usually start turning on the heat anyway. We keep it set at 68F so right now it doesn't run often, but keeps the house at a more constant temp - good for the Beans too. Buddy and Jade LOVE the radiator, they all have covers so don't worry about them getting too hot for the skin, keep the aquastat at 140 anyway so the water flowing through even in the dead of winter never goes above 150-160 (rarely goes this high)and usually not over the 140 - that coupled with the covers (air gap) protect the cats.
I was not suggesting a SID dosing schedule. Just possibly trying to repeat the data we saw PM of 10/18 to AM 10/19 but feel comfortable shooting in the morning with 0.5 and see where that takes us. Get him down a bit with 0.75 and hold him down with 0.5. Problem is, I am not comfortable shooting a 98 with 0.75 when I'm not going to be around to monitor him. The curve on Sunday didn't give us much info about how insulin is working in him except that he's a "bouncer" (when health he really is quite a strong cat). Just trying to get him into the low yellow's high blues and stop bouncing for now - again small wins.
As for PM dosing, my goal is 1-2 additional checks a night at varying times. I've gotten late cycle now, probably going to go for a +6 again tonight, hope the alarm wakes me up this time.

Edit: I have a full Hypo kit with gravy wet, karo, needle-less 1ml syringes (not leur lock) and 3 page instructions with local and emergency vet numbers and addy's on the top of the front page - hope I never have to use these, but I suppose it's not an if, but when situation.
Edit2: No chance of him getting any dry food. We keep the door closed even when she is not in there, pick up bowl when Jade is done and make sure she didn't leave any nuggets on the floor.
