Today:

Was walking around looking for a place to hide. Purring loudly. Gave Tramadol at 5 like normal... Cerenia smeared with butter, but didn't get it down far enough, and was spat back out; retried with pill, however, some melted and remained on my finger... Tried to scrape remainder off onto her tongue.

AMPS 91, 30g Evo 95% C&T, Cosequin, 1/2 psyllium as I haven't seen poo since Friday; barely licked; retried with 20g pureed food with 1 tbsp. water; barely licked... Syringe fed but not really successful; also tried to syringe water... would drink a few drops, but would also hold some in mouth and allow to drip out.

Hand in there. The first few days after a P'tits Dx are the hardest. It is hard to get them too eat, they develop such food aversions with p'titis. Syringe feeding is great for that, if they will take to it. Mannie never did. He survived that first week on gravy foods, the only thing he would eat. Not the best, but at least he ate. I also syringed the water too. It did help some.

Blackie had about 2 tsps. of food, and so far 2 tsp. (10mL) of syringed water. I'm going to ask the vet when she calls about what the average amount of water to give her. Since I can't afford to sub-Q her, I'll do my best to syringe water into her as much as I can. I'm not a quitter. I know that Blackie isn't either, since she just ate some food.

She's currently resting now, and will give her more water when her head faces the entrance of the cubby hole.

I will send you some ondansetron and cyproheptadine if you like.....

I will also send you money so you can get a bag of fluids and accessories.....

it's worth a try to see if it helps....


Have you tried tuna water.... or shrimp water? If she likes either....

you can get one shrimp .... or a can of tuna.... and use a bit....
and take a blender and mix....
something like 1 shrimp and 2 cups water.....
she might drink that willingly.

I also sent you a pm. Do you need some gel caps to avoid mushy pills when they manage to spit them out? Let me know.
