Morning LL,

WCR Heard from the vet yesterday. Sara's lump was a cancerous mast tumor. The good thing is that where they took it off it did not show any cancerous cells. It is healing nicely and we are not doing any treatment at this time. I will just be keeping a close eye to see if she gets anymore or if it returns.

Anybody have any experiences with these? **

Her bg's are up. My guess is that it is due to having the tumor and than its removal. Which her body is still in the recovery time. 199 for her at ps is unheard of. I'm thinking of bumping her up a little.

She is doing well otherwise.

Have a nice day.

Jan, glad to hear there looks to be no more cancer at the site. As far as Saras numbers, Im wondering if she needs a smidge more insulin just for the time being to get her numbers back to the greens. I had to do this with Spikes uti and now his numbers are setteling down and hes close to the amount of insulin he was on before. Im sure it would just be a temporary increase. See what others think too.

Good morning Jan.
I am happy to hear the site is clean for cancer cells.
I think it would be ok to bump her dose up a little.....are you home this weekend to monitor? I was surprised to see Sara's number too.

Well at least you know what you were dealing with, and that the site sounds clean of cancer cells. Have a great saturday guys!

I'd agree with Janice. Let's get Sara back into the greens.

I'm not familiar with with this kind of tumor. I think if you post in Health, as well, you'll have lots of people who can provide some input.

Re: 10/2 Sara AM+3~154 results/ biopsy

Thanks Mirium, yeah I gonna bump it a gentle notch tonight. I won't be home tomorrow though. I'll be gone all day. Going to the pumkins 'n' pooches autumn fair & dog fest. I make dog collars out of different fabrics and I have a booth. I'll make sure she has food out. I'm looking forward to this fair.

Peter thanks for the well wishes for Sara. It does help knowing what I'm dealing with and the report was very good.

Janice It's funny Sara's bg's were'nt bothered by her UTI> Must have been caught early. I guess its actually good that she pees on the rug when she does'nt feel right. I'm surprised that shes not doing it more now. Shes going up that smidgen tonight.

Otis (GA) had a cancerous lump on the toe of his front paw (reddish & almost spongy looking, small about the size of a pencil eraser sticking out above his fur). Vet removed it + part of toe, tested margins were clean & it never did come back nor did he ever get another one. Missing the tip if the toe never bothered him either.

Good luck to you and Sara with the healing process. Sure hope all stays well for a long, long time!

So glad you caught that early and had it taken care of. You know your girl so well.

I had no idea you had that kind of business - do you have a website? Good luck with the show, Jan!

Glad Sara is recovering nicely and they got it all. Also hope Sara comes back down to her nicer numbers. Hope you have a good show tomorrow with lots of business and good weather.
