Good Morning, Everyone,

It was a shock to see "Hi" on the meter at AMPS, so I tested again immediately and got 260 (still very high for Rusty). It was very cold and damp last night (39 degrees outside this morning), and I suspect that the cool house affected the meter and strip. Tested at +1 but he is still high for him. Maybe this is the "big bounce", or maybe it was a fur shot last night (but we didn't smell Lev.). Maybe it's the cat. Rusty also seems to be working on a hairball, so it could be that. But now I have to repeat my new mantra (courtesy of Lisa/Do Lou): "The biggest variable in FD is FD itself."
We broke down and put the heat on. Rusty went almost immediately to his perch above the radiator. He hadn't gone on his perch all summer! The seasons are changing!! The cat knows!!!

I've spent the morning thus far vacuuming the downstairs. Rusty doesn't need to breathe in all the dust and loose hair that seems to gather around here! (neither do we!). Upstairs is next. Then some more laundry (sheets and towels from camp). We also want to get out for a walk before it starts to rain again.

Back later, hopefully with a better number. The morning routine was the usual: headbutts, test, breakfast (2 sittings), shot (I'm pretty sure it went in), brief but vigorous game with MJ's pompons. chillax.

Hi Kitties, That was some OTJ party in Hong Kong last night. Ahmin looks great. I almost couldn't get a moonbeam because the moon was hidden by clouds and fog, but I made it finally.

Hi Ella, wow, that was a shock to see "Hi" but sure sounds like it's the meter. Rusty will get back on track. That is cold already. I spoke with my Mom in PA, and also cold there and frost expected overnight. Hope you get out for an enjoyable walk before the rain. Have a nice day and hope Rusty comes down.

Wow Ella, that HI stopped me dead in my tracks and totally caught my attention nailbite_smile . Glad to hear that its most likely a meter error.....whew!
Winter is coming.......*sigh* :sad: But i'm sure Rusty will be just fine with that beautiful long fur coat he's wearing. ;-)

Morning, guys! I had the same thing happen with a strip yesterday, but got a "Lo" instead. Quick retest was a 64 and I started breathing again! :lol: :lol: :lol: It is hard to be zen when you see high numbers, but it really is all we can do when Lantus just isn't a reactive insulin. I'm sure Rusty will be back down soon.

Hope you are able to get in your walk today. When I woke up the second time this morning to a bright sunny day, I actually thought about you and hoped you were getting some as well after the weather you had yesterday! Hope it worked!

So glad u made it, Rusty! De partee was awesome and u weren't to late for de grillin! Man, dem prawn thingies waz awesome!!! ---Willie

Hi again,
Now we're in a more normal range. Rusty is napping with his toys around him. I decided to work on the cellar (largely untouched since the spring flood): lots of sandy grit that doesn't vacuum up easily. My back aches!! Off now for a walk. Gotta get out or I'll go nuts.

Much nicer numbers now. I wonder if he found an illegal snack? Or maybe it was a reaction to the vacuum monster. Take advantage of the weather while you can, cleaning can always wait! Did you get all the repair work done in the cellar?

None of the above, Ann! No illegal snacks in this house! The vacuum was much later in the morning. I think it was the cat, having a bounce day.

Weather permitted a short walk around the garden this afternoon. Tomorrow we're leading a paddle, so I hope the weather improves.

Back later, off to visit some condos and to watch "Prohibition".

Much better PMPS for Rusty! I imagine you about had a heart attack! Glad it was a meter error.

Hope your weather improves for your paddle. Unbelievable that you have your heat on already. We still have the AC on.

We are getting ready to watch Prohibition as well.

Wow...what a weird morning cycle and I wonder if the first several numbers were affected by cold...none of those are Rusty numbers.

So glad to see him back where we are used to seeing him. Hope you have a great night and stay warm.
