Hopefully, the tests will continue to come in & you start to get more clarity and then a solid plan :).
I am not on Facebook, but a friend of mine said there is a group for IAA & similar diagnosis. Not sure how large or small it is but maybe an additional source of info.

The description of Oberon and how he is a jerk.....hilarious! I cannot believe he manages to shred your Amazon boxes :eek:. What a funny guy!
I have one who is like a snapping turtle and will line up an ear and chomp it :nailbiting:.
 
Oh, the boxes are impressive. The first couple of days we had him he shredded the cardboard cat carrier he came home in, then moved on to the moulding of the bathroom door where we were isolating him from the other cats. Still, it's better than one of our previous kitties, who liked to chew through cords. (Venetian blinds, laptop charger ($ouch$), Christmas lights...)
 
WOW :woot:! Molding......impressive..and scary! Cords, especially electric, would be frightening for sure! Oberon is Mr. Chewy!
 
Senior panel results are in and I've added them to the Labs tab of the SS. I'd love to get opinions about the anemia and maybe the high cholesterol/triglycerides.
 
There is a closed Facebook group for higher dose kitties, I never went there due to certain individuals who run that group. It's a long story. You can try joining, just know that the treatment for IAA is more about dosing.

If you ever saw the OTJ party video for Sandy's Black Kitty - he was a terror who loved to shred paper towel. :p

My T has had some cholesterol/triglyceride we have been monitoring. The first thing I was advised to do was repeat it but after 12-15 hour fasting.....the closer to 15 hours the better since it so sensitive to food. Labs still came back high but no where near the level without the proper fast. Oberons are above normal but not so awful. Ts were 1038 unfasted but then on repeat after fasting 260

Oh, good point... I somehow hadn't even thought about the fact that this was not a fasting test. (He got breakfast with his Lantus that morning.) When the vet mentioned it she said she wasn't concerned about it but didn't say why. One less thing to worry about, and I can just focus on the anemia (cause unknown), plus FD/IAA.

Yes ......Ts initial unfasted labs were after breakfast as well. If you ever need to re check it down the road once you get everything else sorted out just make sure to get the fasting lab. When I was advised about the 15 hours I was so concerned :nailbiting:, especially with a diabetic cat. Given it was the endo specialist who I knew I could trust recommending it, I followed through. I’m glad I did because the results were the difference between something needing to be treated vs no treatment necessary.
