Juba's condo from yesterday, 10/1:

Well...Juba did manage to get into the low blues (102!) this afternoon which I was pleasantly surprised and anticipating.
But then this evening...
I tested 2 different strips to make sure the first one (418) wasn't wonky, and sure enough Juba was high tonight...

Here's my question to anyone who is able to answer:
Are some sugar kitties just bouncy forever??

Juba and I have been doing this sugar dance for the past 2.5 years and it seems like we never get level numbers all the time...no matter how hard I try!

I use a digital caliper every time I give Juba insulin so I'm making sure she's receiving the same dosage every time.

Thoughts? Advice?

Yes, some cats are just bouncy.

Any particular reason you didn't reduce on 9/26? She got to the 30's which means a reduction.

What %carb food are you feeding? Some cats do a little better with slightly higher carb that is still LC.

I guess Juba will most likely just be forever a bouncy girl! Lol

I just looked at her spread sheet, and I believe the reason I didn't reduce after 9/26 was because I think that was only the second time she went below 50...
Should I have reduced after 9/26?

Currently Juba is getting Fancy Feast classic turkey and giblets (3%) and Fancy Feast roasted turkey (6%) and I've been giving her equal amounts of that. Should I just give her the roasted variety that's 6% carb? Or what about maybe giving her some of the flaked or grilled varieties, but mixing that with the lower carb??
Do you think Juba may have a food allergy to turkey? I know salmon is a no go because she throws up with those flavors...

Thanks so much for the reply Wendy!

As Chris said, three times below 50 or once below 40 is a reduction.

I wasn't speculating a food allergy. Just wondering if more could be done to flatten her out by feeding slightly higher carbs so you can give a bit higher dose and try to keep her in greens longer. That's the best way to reduce the bounciness, get her used to green.
