Yesterday's Condo
It's really wild when things are mostly the same, except for your t/f/s - since everything seems to revolve around that schedule, it's hard to get a grip on what you should be doing when if it's off. The 18/18 option is a life saver for situations like ours yesterday, but I'll be glad when we're back to normal and I don't have to keep doing math in my head to figure out where we are!
Despite a long concert (2.5 hours, and he started late) and traffic, we got home at 12:30, which was really +18.5, but put us on track to shoot tonight at 6:30 pm, our normal time. The kitties were all more than happy to eat, even though I gave them a snack before we left. I guess 317 isn't bad, considering the 18 hours since his last shot, and the possibility of a bounce from his antics in the morning. It'll be interesting to see how where he is tonight at PMPS.
AB dosing went well both last night and this noon (got to get that back on schedule, too).
We're on a roll! (anti-jinx) However, I do have one pilling misadventure to share. When I went to bed in the wee small hours of this morning, I took with me the pill popper, loaded with a dose of Ondansetron for Sasha, and a syringe with some water in it. My plan was to give it to her as soon as I woke up this morning. That way, by the time I got up and organized and got everyone's food ready, she'd have it in her system about 30-45 minutes, and hopefully it would prevent any upset that might have occurred. Brilliant, huh? So I woke up and saw her curled up down by my knees. I reached for the popper and syringe, and with very sleepy eyes, I looked at the pill gun to make sure I hadn't accidentally knocked the pill out. I couldn't see it in there, so I moved the plunger to get a better view, and the gelcap went shooting out and across the room!
Guess that's why it's called a "pill gun"! I scrambled out of bed, thinking I'd never find it in our messy room. However, I had watched it's trajectory, so I had a basic idea where to look, and just as I was about to give up, I spotted it! Meanwhile, Sasha was observing all this with interest. Lucky for me, it never occurred to her to take advantage of my distraction and escape, so I had the pill down her throat almost before she knew what hit her! Whew! I was awake then! She ate her small breakfast happily, as well as the small lunch I took her later. Small meals, multiple times a day, seem to be the best for her right now.
OT: We were running a little late getting out the door last night, as I only had an hour from the time I got home from the dentist until we were supposed to leave. I had to change, do makeup and hair, feed the cats and test Cinco. We got out the door about 15 minutes later than planned. DH was grumbling that we wouldn't have time for dinner (of course, he never thought about feeding and testing while I was getting changed! ). We took the back roads to avoid rush hour traffic on the freeway, and 15 minutes into our drive came across a road block - looked like a bad (probably fatal) accident on the road ahead. Had to detour off on another side street. We know all these back roads pretty well, and we came to the one we wanted to turn on (along with all the others that had been detoured), and it, too, was blocked - another accident!
Now DH was using impolite language! cat(2)_steam We would be lucky if we had time to hit the drive through at McDonald's according to him! Traffic was actually not as bad as I expected the rest of the way, and we picked up our friends and chose a buffet/salad bar restaurant as it would offer the quickest time in & out. Headed for the arena, I asked if DH would take the back roads. No, he was taking the freeway. Bad call, I said, it's rush hour! Soooo we hit stop and go traffic, then concert traffic, and finally got to the arena 10 minutes past concert start time! Lucky for us, Elton John was either taking his time or they knew a lot of people were still piling in, as he came out on the stage right as we took our seats!!!
He played and sang almost non-stop for 2.5 hours. Not bad for an old guy. He played mostly the old hits, which is what we all came to hear, and he did almost every song of his I know - I think I figured out four or five he missed - not bad! Something really cool he did about 3/4 way through the show - he encouraged people to come down and stand right up against the stage! Of course, a lot of them did. He shook some hands and signed some autographs and then sang some more. Then a guy managed to get up on the stage, and a girl with him. Security hustled them off, and Elton told them not to throw them out - put them back down front! Then he sat at the piano and a girl got up on stage and came up behind him and put her arms around him - he didn't bat an eye, and security hauled her back down. At this point, I turned to my DH and asked "Who is doing security here, the US Secret Service?!" ;-)  In the end, a good time was had by all.
I haven't visited many condos in the past few days, but my schedule is clear the rest of the week, so I'll try to get caught up on everyone.
Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF & DH, Elise's DM and Wendy's DM. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Fursday!
