Yesterday's condo

Got lots of things to do today, so of course China has to dip below 50....will be staying close to make sure she heads up and stays there and then maybe I can get out. Went back up to a skinny .75 today and if she doesn't go any lower, I might stay with it...or reduce it another drop...any opinions?

For those of you that have been asking about my mom, I appreciate it so much that you care. She's doing well, and the doctors didn't feel like she needed Nursing home care any longer, and she wanted to go home. I wasn't at all happy with that idea since she lives over a half hours drive away, and with the problems she's had with her comprehension, I just didn't like the idea of her going home to live alone. I had been talking to her about going into Assisted Living and that's where it had looked like she was going, but then she got it in her head to go home. Luckily, someone in physical therapy suggested that before she goes home, it might be best for her to spend a month in Assisted Living (same building as the Nursing home but in a different part) and she agreed, so yesterday we moved her into a private room in the Assisted Living part. At least now, we will get a better idea of how well she can really care for herself, but will have the safety of 24 hour nursing care if it's needed.

Why do cat's have such incredibly poor timing?      I guess she's telling you what she thought of that dose. I wonder if last night was the "high before the low".

Good news that you got your mom into assisted living. It'll give you some peace of mind.

These kitties always have to keep us on our toes. I'm glad you got your mom in Assisted Living. It sounds like a good thing right now.

I wonder if last night was the "high before the low".

I thought about that Wendy, but almost from the first dose of .5 (not including the first one or two when the depot was still in play) she continued to climb, so I think the writing was on the wall that she was going to fail at least the 2nd deduction. That's another reason why I was so tentative about taking the 2nd one so close to the one from 1 to .75. I think the real lows she's gotten can be explained by depot action as much as anything. (then again, who can explain a cat??  )

I'm glad you got your mom in Assisted Living. It sounds like a good thing right now.

Yes Carla, I'm much happier with this month of "stepping down" from Acute care to Assisted Living so we can really make sure she's ready to go home alone...Of course I'm kind of hoping she might decide Assisted Living ain't so bad.

you are definitely having to play that dosing game with her.....good luck

You can say that again Kelly...this is infuriating some days...a drop here, she's too high, a drop there, she's too low...really wish someone made syringes that were so tiny in circumference that the most they'd hold is maybe 1ml...then they could put lines in between the half unit markings. Wouldn't that be grand??

And, as I figured, it's PMPS time and she's bouncing..BOING BOING BOING!!

Hi, Chris, I hope everything goes smoothly with your mom's transition.
I hope China's bounce is short-n-sweet!

Last night looks like the famous "cycle of flat yellows that could mean an active cycle is coming". China doesn't make a habit of it, but other kitties seem to.

All in all though, a pretty good day!
